4. no, but I would recommend it. i know of guys running the bmc with no rx pack or booster. but that will probably only work in 17.5 and maybe 13.5 if you have the 5000 packs
thanks, but how about the esc's low cutoff in the bmc manager? do i just set to Nimh 4C or there's a way to disable it because 1S Lipo is already 3.7v

i can only guess, since i run rx pack. but if you did not want to run a booster or rx pack, then you must put the bmc in 4 cell mode. there is not way to turn off the low voltage cut off that i am aware of.

Hey guys I just picked up another New BMC with the 1.5 sofewear
but it is not acting like it has the timing advance my old 1 has.
it was set for 13.5 from KO well thats what they told the Hobby shop
that I got it from.. so arent all the V1.5 suppose to have the timing
advance sofewear in them now?

yes, all bmc 1.5 have the ability to set the timing from step 1 to step 6. but you still need the usb adapter to make the changes to the timing. also setup is different for each manufacture of motor.

yes, the only difference is that the serial interface, you will need to provide power to the bmc.

Just got a v1.5 bmc. Was curious if anyone could point me in the right direction here. Kinda been struggling a bit getting the power out of it. ( i know its there just gotta find it ! )

17.5 DUO middle hole
2.0 internal
60 foot straight.

Ball park on gear ratio, and a good profile to start out with? This would help out a ton Thanks!

sorry left some stuff out. Was tired when posted

what was the temp when you ran it with whatever gearing you had in the car? my guess would be 4.5 or higher. we were at 3.7-3.9 on a 160ft straight with the motor coming off at 160. (middle timing hole, timing 6 on the Duo)

to expand on what smoke81 posted:

17.5 duo, timing middle hole, 5000 40c battery, top photon

that's with a 2.0 interal so 5.6 to 6.34 final (rubber tires jacos), the real problem is the 60ft straight, with this short of a straight it feels like the timing advance is kicking in only right at the end of the straight when you go through the sweeper, so i guess the real question is what changes exactly when you change the timing advance from 0 to 6? Does the amount of timing change, the curve, when the timing is applied, all of the above???

I was runing a 5.6 final and with timing advance on 6 and many different curves and would come off anywhere from 160-175 depending on the curve, but it just never felt like the car would have punch and top end it either had one or the other.

Just wanted to give a big thanks to Robert for hooking up my BMC's at the recent Hot Rod Hobbies off road Shootout this past weekend! My Lazer ZX5-FS ran great in the 13.5 Superstock 4wd A-mains

Can't seem to mimick that on this esc. motor is a 17.5 novak Thanks
Anyone??
