Default Is it true??? What wins on Sunday, sells on Monday!

Is it possible that what wins on Sunday sells on Monday?? I see where some of the major races are won by a particular brand of car and the following week they're sales surge. Any truth to this???

Just curious!

There's a sad but truthfull joke about the big three somewhere in this topic.

...but as it relates to R/C, I've seen the quick racers at each track develop a following for whatever chassis they are wielding at the time. This is most likely due to the "support" factor, as the hotshoes provide setup advice and have random spare parts for the unlucky guy who breaks the not-so-often-broken-part.

While what wins on Sunday may sell on Monday, what wins on the internet sells every day of the week..

Yeah, I just don't get it. Some of the "average Joe" racers just can't wait to run out to their local hobby shop or Internet site and buy what they conceive as the only way to go faster. I guess they figure that since brand "X" just won the last big major race, it's their only option if they want to be more competitive. Cubic dollar isn't the answer!

i could still be true for the big three, except for the fact that other then the sticker on the hood you can't find a model of the winner on the showroom floor

When I was racing 1:1 cars, this was extra true. You could spend $3500 on the trick engine rebuild from this one builder, and you'd probably pick up a second a lap or so, and it would last a season. You could spend that same $3500 on a good driving school and pick up 5 seconds a lap, and it would last your entire life.

The vast majority went for the hot engine...

Agree what wins todays sell like hotcake tomorrow. Nowadays manufacturer are smart. They use the drivers name as promo & sell the same stuffs double the price....

For example like MSX MRE edition, Hara edition ESC.

People will spend nearly any amount, and do almost anything required to go faster...

... as long as it doesn't require them to practice.

This hobby is as much about bling and buying shiny new things as it anything. We're basically a bunch of women.

not sure if winning sundays sells on mondays?? Im sure it does.... but the bigger mystery in life is why you can buy an:
Associated RC8 RS RTR for 540$ and go racing out of the box, yet a xray T2009 cost 505$!!!! (it dont include a motor, battery, radio or tires and body!!)

RandD aside i have never understood how double and tripple the material count in an 8th scale buggy ready race cost the less then a touring car??

Im sure im way off base and should be in a different thread... LOL
