So who knows about this awsome sport? Its pretty awsome. I figured if there were some sort of tire that was grippy enough to go fast on but still not strong enough to hold on when your really slamming the throttle and itll let you slide around some this would be so sick to try with an rc car. New form of both drifting and racing. I think it would be sick! What do y'all think about it? Here is a video of Ken Block doing a huge gymkhana course.

Very true... I have seen many others... I am in the racing scene and watch just about all forms that I can. This is just a sick video... And Ken Block is a sick driver... No videos seem as appealing as his is.

You can see in the footage the camera is mounted in different locations on the car.
If it had been shot in one take, fantastic.
But as far as I can see, anyone with some level of car control could make that video.. take after take getting each section perfect.
Nice video though and the guy does have some skills, but its not as awesome as it comes across.

the tires we used in that video were... hpi type a, hpi stage d slicks, yokomo drift radials, pit schmizu radials and i think kawada was the other company that makes radials. one thing i can highly advise is that if you do a class like this spec it to one tire, because some tires will be faster than others so some people will have a distinct advantage. also in this class having a good drift setup is key. if you have a grip setup you will be slow. i tried 4 different setups on that track and the drift setup with a big motor and stage d slicks was the fastest i could do. a stock tt01 with a locked front diff and a 10.5 motor also did well but my standard drift cyclone was still faster (full drift setup, 7.5 motor).

As far as tires go, i think stage d is the way to go, i have only tried the hpi type a, hpi stage d, and tamiya d specs, and i have to say the stage d slicks are by far the fastest and they were also faster than the other radials out there, yet they still had more than enough slip. Type A's could be good for a slower motor spec class, i was gripping the stage d tires with the 10.5 motor, although it was not geared correctly. So yeah any other questions lmk.

Well Im running a 4.0 Reedy motor... So I think I have a little more power than you... I wil ltry out the stage D tires and see how well they do. Hopefully they will work nicely cause this looks like it would be a ton of fun.

yeah 4.0 should do the trick. just make sure ur setup is ready for it. like i said a grip setup probably wont do as well as a drift setup
