On a scale from 1 - 10 how picky is the tech generally at this event. By that I mean. Are we looking at all ROAR rules or something more like a big club race. I expect the biggies like weight, bats, motors, and approved bodies. But how about something like exact wing cord or little stuff. Im asking because Im bringing a few guys who have never been a part of an event like this and I want to help them know what to prep for.

Is there a tire set limit in the rubber classes?

Will we be expected to turn tires into tech unopened?
I don't know for fact, but if they go the way they have been the last several years then it'll not be as strict as a ROAR event, but it will be pickier than a normal club race. From what I remember, we've been able to run most ANY reasonable body, ROAR approved or not, & all they check is the roof height & wing height(I wanna say 4 1/2 inchess min. roof height, but I'm not sure, but I do know the wing can be no taller than the top of the roof, they use a level to check that), & there's either a 5 or 5.5mm ride height minimum for TC's(WGT's might be different though, not sure as it's a new class for the Novak race). And they have typically followed ROAR's weight rules. And about the rubber tires, you're not allowed to bring your own to race, you MUST buy them at the event(& they mark them when you buy them so they can ID them easily), & if you do 2 rubber tire classes, you can only race the sets of tires you bought for THAT class(in my examples, I ran one car in the Masters & 10.5 Rubber last time, & after each run, I had to change both the motor & the tires), & they usually allow you to buy up to 3 sets for qualifying(& you do get a free set to start with), plus those that make the A Main I think could buy either 2 or 3 more sets(but I'm not 100% sure on exactly how many sets you can buy, I just know that you can buy more than the ones you're given & with the Jaco Blues this time, I have to wonder if anyone will really need to buy ANY extras at all). And that's about all I can thnk of right now(though I could easily be forgetting something). It's really not bad at all, & they help everyone figure out what they need to do to be within their rules(that's one of my first priorities on the Thursday practice day, so once I know my cars are good, I can focus on the driving line & my cars' setups). Oh, & you can practice on tires you already have if you want, so you can save the event tires for qualifying & the mains...
And as for me, I'm in again for Masters & also for VTA.....

I can't recall how much the tires were last year if you wanted to buy extra sets. My question here is how much will they be this year and when we send in our entry forms can we add that in on our checks so when we do get there we don't have to worry about paying for them and we can just pick them up?

Hello everyone,

It looks like I'll be in the area around the time of this race on business so I'm thinking I would like to participate in what I've heard is a great race event.

How do you sign-up?
Is there a website?

Thanks,
Brent

I went to Trackside's website but in the special event area I did not see the text for Novak race and the small link text was hard to read.

Thanks for the info.
