Default Gearing Question

Hello,

Had a gearing question. I'm putting together a Kyosho TF-5 Stallion. The spur gear t comes with is a SPUR GEAR(64P-106T/TF-5 STALLION). Can someone help me fgiure out which pinion gear I need to buy. I went to www.gearchart.com, but am not sure how it works. I know I need a 64 pitch pinion gear, but also not sure what brand and where I should buy froim.

Thanks, Duc

I'm using the Novak Velocity 5.5R brushless motor. Not really bashing or racing, just messing around.

Thanks

Duc,
Novak is rec. FRD 8.5 for your motor. The pinion you need it 31T.
Robinson Racing 64 Pitch 31 Tooth Black Aluminum Pro Pinion
Part Number: RRP4331
Check with your LH.

What am I doing wrong. When I go to gearchart and calculate to get a FRD close to 8.5, the pinion I come up with is 23T. I've never done this before, so I'm sure I'm missing something. Any thoughts?

Thanks

It says you should be running a fdr of 8.5 so divide your spur and pinion and multiple that by your car internal drive ratio so.

106/22=*1.83=8.81

Thats the closes you can get it with that spur gear.
