I'm happy just being joe schmooo.....
it seems to me that you (as a pro that has to travel to races and to promos) would get burned out on it quicker, and it would seem less fun, unlike a HOBBY should be.

happy being joe schmoo? that is cool, not taking racing so seriousley and having more fun while you are at the track. the good thing about being the average joe is, only optional travel, you don't have to go unless you want to; racing is fun, not a chore; when you race, nothing is expected of you(unless you make something of it), your finish does not matter; and just being around with friends/family are all easier when you are AT home, not at the track.

i have a certin respect to those that are pro, and have to be away(sometimes unwillingley), and are still willing to help YOU out after a long race night/week/month.

WYD: Raced desert and motocross in southern california, 48 out of 52 weekends a year for about 7 or 8 years. Basiclly spanned the late 60's to mid 70's. Several of those years I raced 5 days a week. Usually mon and tuesday spent trying to sleep, heal-up, or fix what broke on the bike. If I didn't race, then I practiced that day. I rode every day, minimum of 4 hours. It was work, and I wore out alot of motorcycles. Its by God's grace that I survived it all.

Barry Baker: Seen any "Outlaw-Mini Coopers" lately? (yup, I'm a smart....well, you know the rest.

Yea, ahhh, yea, ahh. But I still don't understand how it was cheating if its OPEN PRACTICE on a non-race day!!!!!! Cars got a 11x2 with 4 cells right now.....hehehehe I've got to get that thing out of the closet.....bout due for another appearance! My face hurts every time I drive it, from laughing so hard at the comments on the drivers stand.

WOW, that is a long time racing(no wonder you are so fast!), I was like what, a year old when you started racing?

I guess that you are not(and will not get) burned out if the longest time that you took off was two months.

The longest time period that I have taken off is one month in my three years of racing.
