I like my TC packs so I'd rather go with a known quantity.

Here's what I use with great success. Check this out.

I decided to go with the Equinox instead of the Team Checkpoint balancer. The Equinox is less expensive and will do up to 5 cell, whereas the Team Checkpoint balancer will only do up to 3 cells.

You will also need this item for balance charging at any rate higher than 3 amps thru the Equinox.

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXSEK4&P=V

When using this adapter you are splitting the current between the balance connector and the deans plug. Both will be plugged in to the pack for charging. I really don't know how it works exactly, but I've had no problems at all. Hope this helps.

Just wanted to post my appreciation to Thunderpower. Converted to the 5000 40C Pro packs this weekend and what a difference !! At least a second off lap times and an A Main win, what more can you ask for ??

I'm charging with a Duratrax Ice, converted my old Trakpower V Balancer with the High Rate 2S/3S harness (the last one that Nexus Racing had) and they charged, balanced and performed perfect !!

Awesome product !!!

If I don't need to balance charge @ 6A, I don't need an optional adapter to use the equinox to the TP balancer plug?

Correct, using the Equinox harness connected to the TP balancer plug you will be able to charge @ 3A max. with no connection to the Dean's plug.

Got my TP 5000mah and the equinox balancer, but it can't connect. the plugs don't match. You sure I didn't have to buy an optional adapter? Please help.

You might as well get the hi-power TP adapter. OR the align, electrifly adapters supplied with an equinox have TP adapters shrink wrapped already. They need taken apart to use them.

Ok here's a question. I have 3 packs, one per vehicle, and yesterday I charged all three, yet only ran 2 packs. Is it ok to store the one pack fully charged until I race next week? I've read LiPo batteries are not fond of being stored fully charged.

For one week you will be OK. More than two take them down to 80%.

Just spoke with my local hobby shop and apparently they can't get ahold of the 5400 Pro Race saddle packs. He's estimating at least another 6 weeks. Are these selling out faster than you can make them or is that just the delay it takes for them to get through the supply chain?

Any word on whether we'll be seeing the lower capacity Pro Race or Sport Race packs in a saddle pack configuration?

Sorry redbones, my bad. I forgot my guy sent me the Thunderpower adapter when I ordered the balancer. If you still want to charge @ 3A max. check out harness #GPMM 3180. It's listed on Tower for $5.29.

Does anyone know how thick/tall the 4200 40C packs are? I'm looking for a thin pack for my 415MRE that requires as little dremeling to the bulkheads as possible. Thanks...
