OK, I basically cut and pasted this from my TP 5000/40C/7.4 instructions a couple of months ago.

ThunderPowerRC -- what's the whole story? Can I interpret this as that it's OK to charge at 2C with any charger as long as I have a balancer hooked up? Can I use a Hyperion EOS1210i with balancer to charge at 2C and be SAFE?

Can I at least charge at 6A with my Hyperion EOS0606i and balancer and be SAFE?

Was curious how Touring Mod went for Thunderpower? I don't see it listed.

We recommend you charge at 1C with a cell balancer. However you can charge safely at 2C with no performance advantage. You will however decrease over cycle life depending on how often you charge at 2C.

Josh finished 4th in mod TC with Dave Ehrlich finishing 6th.

Thanks. I'm not looking for a performance advantage, just a time savings between heats.

Any reason the 2C decreases the life of the battery?

Any decrease in life doing 1.5C? This makes the charge rate at 6amps for 4,000's and 5 amps for 3200's?

I'm doing this to speed up the charge time.

Thanks in Advance

Quote from a previous post of mine, I've made up a balance cable;

Would someone from Thunderpower like to confirm exactly what the make and model is of the balance connector on their packs.

I think I may have found one that does the job, but I accidently ordered the 'socket' which is what is on the pack, I have the 'header' on order.

Just in case someone has access to them and can check now;

JST B04B-PASK-1 (LF)(SN)
4way header

I would also like to know. Others I have used have a 3-wire balance plug on a 2S lipo, these are 4-wire. Where can an adapter be purchased, and what are the 4-wires? I am assuming, cell 1 + and Cell 1 - and the others are for cell 2, but need a little more info here.

Thunder Power already posted in this thread what the balancing wires are, so if you do alittle searching you'll find your answer.

You only need to use 3 of the wires, the 4th isn't used;

The balance wire config is as follows:

Black - connected to the black neg wire
White - connected to one set cells positive
Blue - connected to the red pos wire
Orange - not use

This is a 2S2P and balances the same as a 2S1P

Hope this helps
