What 17.5 brushless motor +speed control

Well i have a tc3 and im going to upgrade the motor to a 17.5 brushless and ive noticed you have to get a new speed control and a lot of the motors come with the new speed control. So which 17.5 brushless motor and speedcontrol package should i get or is it better to buy them seperately or ???

all your going to get is the brand people have bought , there is no best , but here goes , i bought the novak systems , gtb in my truck , xbr in my buggy , they both work great , i bought them together meaning motor and speed control it was a little cheaper , ray

I run a Tekin RS with their 17.5. It is great! You can gear it very high (over 50mm rollout). Has worked very well for me.

Do you race or just bash?

What made you want to go to the 17.5 combo?

The U.S vintage Trans Am series uses the 17.5 motor with 4 cell for thier racing...and they use 21.5 with LIPO also.

They use TC3's

NOVAK has a new combo ESC and B/L motor coming out that will be 149.00 for the combo.

It's their HAVOC ESC, which is very similar to the XBR system, and it will come with a 10.5, 13.5, 17.5 or a 21.5 and should work well in your TC3.

dont mean to jack your thread but I was wondering what gear ratio for a 13.5 in a tc3 I am currintly running a 5.15 and my esc is running around 160 and motor at 120 should i go up in pinion 66/32

Speed passion GT v1.1 is really good, i personally race with one, they are really good heaps better than the old novak GTBs or others alike. Its really easy to use and setup it comes with a hand held programmer which you use to adjust the settings- there is no more flashing lights or any nonsence.

Novak or team orion motors would be the better option i have run both and they are both excellent, speed passion motors are a little under powered compared to other brands and lrp are known for rotors breaking for no apparent reason.

Speed PAssion GT and LPF are both great speedies.

Speed Passion 17.5 is as good as any of the other approved motors.

In my TM E4JS TC I personally run a SP LPF ESC and eXpress 17.5 (Trinity Duo). However, the Trinity Duo is being replaced by the Pulse series motors.

In my Xray T2R VTA I run a SP LPF and Novak SS 21.5.

In my soon to arrive Academy GV2-T I will be running a Venom Pro + V540 13.5

But I also have Novak XBR Sport ESC's in my AE L4O (with Novak 21.5), Academy GV2 & SBV2 (both with Novak SS 10.5).

The new Novak Havok with SS 10.5/13.5/17.5/21.5 looks to be the best bang for the buck, but I love having the little programer box that comes with the SP and Venom ESC's.
