While it doesnt have any marked effect on the performace of the car due to the high power or brushless motors it does make the motor work harder, so it gets hotter and the more grip you have the more the gearboxes conflict, the hotter the motor gets.

Drive belts pullies are exactly the same size but due to the elastic nature of the drive train they are more efficient around the track but much less efficient off it.

Now where did I put my anorak?

It is all about what translates on the track. Next up we can discuss why spools work on r/c cars and not full size vehicles...

I'd like to know that. It does seem like steering should be really bad on a spool equipped car. I imagine it's just a matter of weight, but not sure.

That is awesome. Oleg, any chance you could update the shop site with details on which method of shipping is compatible with shipping to various countries? I think my choice of going with Airmail for US was the wrong choice.

Thanks!

It is funny - ever since gas prices loomed towards $4/gal - I am not to worried about having things mailed at the better service levels.

Happy New Year gents - hope your rides are working well.

I had no idea that EMS shipped to the US. I guess that's just my fault for not ordering much from overseas. I have no problem paying a 20% surplus for expedited delivery, just didn't know it was an option.

Thanks ya'll.

I will be at ardent for the winter national, i saw on central booking that you had booked in with A700. So hopefully we can meet up and share some ideas.
I always race 10.5 and the car is very good at ardent. What class do you race?

I use the depth end of a set of digital calipers, and just measure as per the manual method (front of steering plate - rear of steering plate * 1.5 for front, or 2.5 for rear).

I'll try and get a picture up later.
