48/74 will be good gearing for Ripon for sure , ill keep that one in mind.trying to get down past 2.90 for the back stretch at Speedworld i max out about half way through it. Im going to try 51t 64p spur and dremmell down a touch, jut wondering if theres a way to " hump " that rear upper to clear without losing strength.

I very much doubt it. Oleg has focused on the belt drive platform. Parts still exist for the shaft cars, but all the development is belt car

I run 3.2 in my A700 at SWR and my car is the only one to get down to the 15s....

You don't need to grind to much away on top. Just hit the edge that the pinion will start to touch. You don't need a pinion larger than 50 maybe 51 with a 74 spur. No top deck needed. Ask Jay at speedworld. Sometimes he actually knows something.

running 25.5 in VTA if that matters.
With shims under top deck you can use even bigger than 50T pinions.
The winner of TITC 2017 in non-bust class has used on his A700 the 52T pinion with 70T spur ( FDR 2,8 ).
