Default T.O.P. Racing Ballcups and Ballstuds

Morning Guys,

I picked up a like new EVO 2 and am trying to build up my spares/upgrade supplies. I seen the Awesomatix Wiki and the recommended spares there.

I was going to upgrade with the TOP Racing ballcups and studs and was wondering if you guys can point me in the right direction:

Awesomatix EP Touring Car (A700 Shaft Drive)-ballcups.jpg

There are two TOP ballcups that I know of shown here in the picture, do I need to use the longer or shorter ones?

Awesomatix EP Touring Car (A700 Shaft Drive)-5.3mm-ballstuds.jpg

Is the picture above the correct ballstuds I need? These replace the ballstuds correct?

These components replace only the upper inner link ballstuds ST-24 correct? Trying to figure out quantities required of each.

Last: Besides the awesomatix wiki spares listed, are there any other spares for the Evo 2 that are good to have around?
Thanks,
Aaron

If you have an EVO 2 the top upgrade really isn't necessary.. Tht upgrade was for the earlier cars .. The newer ball cups work fine spend your money on other spares

I'd say in my short experience these are a must in spares

PO3-arm ball cap
P04-arm hasp
P05-sway bar joint
P07- arm clip
Spr02- shock rod guide
Spro5l- shock rod
B106RS- wheel bearings
P01-outer turnbuckle end
P02-outer turnbuckle end
P13-4- inner turnbuckle end
p-14 front bumper

Option parts are
Hard front bumper
Titanium turnbuckles
At21s lower roll center balls for arm
ST24L longer shank ball studs for adding extra shims for adjustments
I would also get some of the ECS parts

TOP ballcups (short & long) is a must have + the 5mm studs, for me. It is robust.

The combination of the TOP 4.8mm ballstuds and P03 is amazing as well. the P03 floats and rotates freely (no need of pinching) and you won't be needing the SH 1.0 spacers at all.

I will try to take photos of these for your reference.

As said earlier, herewith is the photo of TOPS 4.8 studs combined with P03.

I am rebuilding my 2nd A700 (for carpet use) with the RFG. I'll post soon about the TOPS Short and Long Ballcups + TOPS 5mm studs.

Cheers and happy holidays!

Sort of looks like you are building a trebuchet !

Happy Holidays to you too !

.... The trebuchet is a compound machine—a combination of simple machines. The trebuchet makes use of the mechanical advantage of a lever......

Ran my older A700EX on the weekend, after all sorts of issues with the spur coming loose (and the nut having a damaged thread) we ended up gluing it down and that worked, ended up using a Traxxas motor mount screw on the pulley as it has a large flanged head so I could lock it down without binding it up. Car was f.. loud lol! And I can say that the Mazda GX6 shell is a dog on our track, particularly on the right hand hairpins it just wanted to kick the back end out.

Waiting on parts (shocks) to get my Evo up to Evo 2 spec as I have already done the MM2

I have a spare FFG set what can I use on this to go to RFG (ie would it work out cheaper than buying the full RFG kit)

Well, back to my build, I found out that everything can float in A700 Evo II.

Since I got the RFG, I made use of the now-spare AM19 and AMA40 to create a floating flatform for the ESC and Receiver with single screw from the lower deck.

I think, I am all set for the forthcoming carpet season.

Picture attached for reference.

Cheers!

So it seems that all the Awesomatix gurus are in the A800 thread, does noone support the lowly A700 now?

Is anyone else having issues when ordering ex Taiwan?

Oleg advised they were closed for "some reasons" 15-18 Dec but nothing has updated since, and emails are unanswered. The order was placed Dec 13 and I paid for EMS freight as I wanted the items before Xmas to do a rebuild over the vacation period.

Default MM2

Can the new Motor Mount MM2 be used with the C01-AL chassis plate?

Thanks,
Brian

maybe you need to open a paypal claim? Might be a bit harsh but if your not getting any response then you can either continue to wait or go to paypal. Frustrating when you pay for ems.

Lets hope we don't get to that but IMO it's pretty p... poor that if the Taiwan place was going to be shut for a week that no mention of it was made on the site!

Yeah not cool, at the very least it should have been posted on the website.
