Yes very much so. Perhaps its going to require an alternative approach to extract the maximum. Looking forward to more track time

As the only A700 I have seen in person is Steens it is hard to get perspective on what a good behaving A700 looks like. Steens car looked phenomenal. I have watched a few really good drivers take my car out for a test drive. In the hands of other, all things relative of course - the car looks really aggressive (good!), reactive and nimble.

It will be good once we see more owners provide feedback on their experiences.

+++++ A tip that I picked up from the guys that used run the Alex Baracuda sedan - use White Lightning on the input/ring gears. Reduces friction, noise and makes the drivetrain really smooth. Apply thin coat, let dry and reapply. Race/practice with the car and reapply. It doesnt need a lot.
Hey Mark
I use to run the R2 back in the day...i remember using the Teflon lube coating for my gear diff or shaft drive ....works great it won't attach with the dirt

Attached is my starting setup. More improvements. Progressing well.

Good
+ Tire wear is really good. Almost too good
+ Mid to exit steering is good
+ Sway bars implemented
+ First comfortable setup with the P37 body

Needs improvement
- Need more overall front 'bite'.
- Need more initial steering (could be symptom of the glued fronts)
- Needs to work better with LTCR

Learned
* Asy Dampeners - deadened the car too much for a 17.5 class. Made the car feel really numb. Needed more reactive dampening rate.

I was pitting alongside Ivan and Oleg at the ATS, have to say the car is really a work of art, and in pro stock at least just looked so easy to drive. Super settled on the track, but great corner speed. Plus they were both really nice guys and good fun to chat with. Top job.

Thumbs up

I just finished building my A700. Throughout the build I was blown away by the precision / tolerances but mostly the design. A new era has begun... Congratulations Oleg and thank you.

If anyone wants to check out my build pictures you can go here :

Cheers,

Jake

I do generally agree with your observations.

I'm no expert but IMO It doesn't need to work better with the LTCR. The LTCR is the problem. Its the last body I'd use with this car. Turns initially then pushes bad mid corner. Worked a treat with my 417 as the car itself is so unstable. This car is the antithesis of the 417.

Proto Mazdaspeed 6 all the way. Much more natural rotation. Move the wing to forward position and/or cut low to get the desired attack.

Speed6 has been quite successful on carpet without a doubt.

Coming out of a successful outdoor season, the LTCR was great on asphalt. I have Speed6s coming.

Good point.

Hy
regarding on bodies ...

- the Mazda speed 6 is the best allround body (very stable)
- Mazda speed 6 lightweight (more sterring than an normal weight mazda)
- LTCR (more frontbite entering the corner, so more agressiv than a mazda)
- LTCR light (more agressiv than the normal one)

for setup it is easy .... normaly you can easy adjust every car to be perfect with a mazda 6. he mazda is always easier, the LTCR faster on one lap.

if you want more frontbite in corner entry on your A700 just try some antidrive in front front front "0" and front rear "0,5mm" ... more cornerbite in middle and exit, adjust active caster.

Also pay attendtion on the positioning of your body !! this will cahnge a lot on your setup. I always run then so much in the middle ass posible +- 0.5-1cm between the front body and the bumper.

regards Tom

What are your findings after trying with/without anti roll bars?

Its odd not fitting them because I wouldn't dare take them off my other cars, with good reason.

But the team guys are winning big meetings without them. And look at the link lengths we're running with this thing, longer than the wishbones.

Its almost like I'm going to have to let go of what I think I know to get the maximum out of the car.

TBH it doesn't feel right for me but the laptimes are fantastic. It'll probably be slower if I get it to my liking
