Default This is hilarious

I have never seen such a long thread for a car that hasn't yet come out!

That said, no other car has, in the same hands made a finals in mod and stock at the ETS - like laptev has done. Nor has regularly made a finals at the ets without a huge team like Xray and TAmiya etc.

I drive the t3'11, but I ain't gonna look at a new kit until I see one of these on a local track.

The rumour mill about team drivers from other cars having a blast and beating pb times over their own cars is gathering at some pace.

I am convinced that it's the suspension that is the biggest factor on this car:
1. low centre of gravity;
2. dynamic castor (I think like the trinity switchblade 1/12 - my favourite rc car)

Everyone I know that has driven the 1/12 switcblade would vouch for the fact that if you know how to get the front and left parallel, and get used to setting it up, it was literally the best front suspension, and never bettered in terms of performance.

I am concerend that the 750USd starting price may unfortunately be a bit too steep - perhaps 600usd, and it will tempt a lot more of the curious out there

This thread is what, almost three years old?

Wish the guys all the luck, I'm an Awesomatix fan no doubt, but will be very surprised if this car is ever released. Its constantly evolving just like the established brands just without being commercially available
Looks more motivated by the inventor's passion to build the best TC in the world than by a desire to make business, which is totally fine IMO

Hmmm, great looking bit of kit but I don't think I will be ordering one just yet, web page, back up, set ups and general information all seem a bit weak

simply put, it's a niche car for a niche racer. you're either into going your own way or not. and when you do, in general, it tends to require more $, time, and knowledge. most of which, seem run out quickly for the typical r/c racer.

i would be surprised if this operation were to stay around long enough for another edition of the car, let alone long enough to have a team located anywhere outside of its birthplace.

pretty cool, but getting away from the transverse motor position (as in recent ets photos) already removes a favorite feature...

The motor can be mounted transverse or longitudinal.

I hope this car does sell, and does well. The fact that it took over 5 years to get to the production line bodes well in that it may not be changed every 12 months or so.

It has been tested at the ETS by Ivan Laptev, without the kind of support tamiya, xray et al get.

Apparently, with brushless motors, they don't have the same torque/pull issues as the brushed motors before - it's something to do with the size and weight of the rotating mass.

I may keep my 008 and sell my t3'11 - I have nothing to lose.

it is a very nice piece of hardware, I wasn't sure about the shaft with brushless and it seem that they move to the belt option eventually, a pricey kit and what kind of backup will be available when it comes to get parts etc is still a little mistery, so far it looks like it is only available on their site.

Good luck and it is nice to see new faces in the world of model cars, it works !! look at the results so far.
