The pack should fit where a 4 cell side by side pack fits as the length and width is pretty close to the 4 cell pack and the height is a bit lower to help the case fit in 12th scale cars.

The red wire on the white, black, red wires on the harness that plugs into the receiver. I removed mine because the esc would try to run the motor off of the receiver pack with it plugged in. I used a maxamps micro t battery for my receiver pack.

You shouldn't need to remove any wires from the newer speed controls. Just use a switch on the receiver pack or booster and don't use the switch on the speedo. I tape over the switch so that turnmarshalls don't use the wrong switch.

But it still pulls power from the receiver pack to power the motor regardless if the regular battery is plugged in or not. There is a noticeable rpm difference when the receiver pack is plugged in and all esc wires are are still going to the receiver pack.

I don't think you need to use a regulator as most of the gas guys run Lipo reciever packs with no regulator.

So with the booster curcuit novak will be releasing, will it eliminate the dumping feeling for existing escs? or will it just be an alternative to a receiver pack?

The Booster circuit will eliminate the reciever pack. Novak tells me that it will get rid of the dumping feeling with there speed controls due to the way they are made. They told me that you turn on the booster circuit and keep the speed control switch off. I would think that a reciever would do the same thing with there speed control but that needs to be tested. I guess all this will need to be tested.

Well then maybe its time to try out my gtb instead of the sphere. Hopefully this is a solution to the problem.

From what I heard the new KO will work and yes someone should try a GTB with switch at off and Novak told me you can keep the red wire plugged in the reciever.

I got to run this in my CRC Gen-X tonight. I'm hooked.

Here's my setup:

LRP Sphere comp (esc was switched off)
Vector 10.5 brushless motor geared 100/35
Futaba 603fs receiver
Losi 180mah Micro-t lipo as receiver pack with voltage regulator.

I had to remove the battery positioning pieces in the Gen-X. I taped it in place and used the battery hold down o-ring. There was plenty of room under the shock.

I did not clip the red wire from the esc lead to the reciever. I tried cutting it and got no power to the motor at all.

I added 1.25 oz of weight to the battery to get the car to 794g.

The track is 35 x 100 ft with 7ft lanes high bite carpet. Medium layout.

We had 4 racers: 1 stock brushed, 1 19t brushed geared ~75/35 with epa down to ~85%, myself, and one AE sponsored guy 10.5 brushless geared to the moon.

The sponsored guy was turning low 9 sec laps. My best lap was 11.4 and the 19t brushed best lap was 11.0.

We were running 6 min races. I did not notice any drop off/dumping feeling. when recharging, I was putting in ~800-1000 mah back in.

Overall, I feel that with a little more gearing I can compete with any of the pretty fast guys running 19t/10.5. I don't think I could beat the sponsored guy if he was running stock with 2 cell nimh while blindfolded.

Anyway, enough said, I ain't going back.

Regards,
Carter

Glad to hear the pack is working well in your World GT car. I think for this season many will play around with the single cell pack and by next season the Electronics will be sorted out and everything will be in place to run it with no issues.
