I think they released these because EFRA Rules require barrel connectors.

Just want to share my newly wired car. Took a bit of work to figure out all the wires, will test this weekend on the 4.5R.

Default wiring

I had put these pics in the inspire us wiring blah blah blah thread posting them here to give another idea of how to wire these packs. im sure soon they will be bullet connectors so it won't matter but this is what im doing for the time being.

The plug battery side is glued to the case. didnt have any shrink wrap for the connections but its prob a good idea.

But that battery is not a Single Cell LiPo, and this is the SMC 4000/25C/3.7V single cell Hardcase pack thread.

Just because the pack has barrel connectors does not mean Danny wanted it that way, but happy to see that we have options now.

That looks really tight Donny.

Btw - what do you think about those metal steering blocks. Have you run with them on your Rev5.L yet?

I still can't believe all the controversy over the GD connectors. I vote on the battery staying as is.

Thanks Mike
The metal blocks are the same deal as the stock ones, just a lil heavier and obviously stronger. Other than the tolerances being maybe a tick better and the set screw for the kingpin they are the same. The biggest thing I've been playing with is running them upside down to change the bump. I played a lil with that at the nats, not much since. Haven't been able to get a good read on it really.

Don't know if Donny's Aluminum Steering Blocks are TeamTamale blocks, but Larry makes some just like that, I have a set on both my Rev.5's and some special made Inline Blocks/Axles on my Pro-10 for super reactive from steering.

http://teamtamale.com/

I found the delrin blocks to not have the axle drilled perfectly centered in the block, and the holes for the axle's are not always perpendicular to the block, causing a built-in "camber-effect" on the axle, which then caused even more issues.

Back on subject - Danny - when are some newer 1-cell LiPo packs coming out??
