This could be my ticket to 12th scale.

Runtime with anything but mod shouldn't be a problem as long as you have a receiver pack.

Some of the speed controls can feel pretty flat on single cell but it's not that bad.

Once the speed control cutoffs get changed I think the flat feeling will go away. In testing done by Donny Lia he tells me that the pack will run fine for 6 minutes but after that it starts to feel like it's dumping but there is still plenty of capacity in the pack. I think under acceleration the voltage dips down below the speed cutoff so it backs off the power to motor to keep it for the reciever. So basically for 8 minute 12th scale to work properly it will require updated speed controls.

What about as an option for WGT??? Since it's a 5 min race...this would work right?

I think Danny is only saying that the 8 min. is an issue with mod motors, but perhaps I'm wrong.

From the testing done so far you can run 5 minutes without the dumping feeling with a 13.5 so for World GT it would be fine.

Donny Lia has tried 17.5 in 12th scale for 8 minutes and there was no dumping feeling so for those who want to race this pack for now 17.5 seems to be the way to go. When the updated speed controls come out then the use of 13.5 or 10.5 will be fine.

The dumping feeling shows up with a 13.5 around the 6 minute mark.

Ah bummer, how severe is it? Are we talking a 10th or two or a big dropoff? I was ordering a pack in hops of putting a 13.5 and RX pack in there and running neck and neck with a 17.5 4 cell car for 8 minutes There has been talking of running 5 min. qualifiers and mains locally anyhow so maybe it'll still work out.

Yes 5 minutes would fix this but the cure is having updated speed controls.

From what I was told the lap times are slower but I'm not sure by how much.

nice looking batt you got there.

Will you guys sell a combo 3.7V lipo with the seperate receiver pack?

I have wanted to try 1/12 scale as it looks like fun, but can't stand NIMHs after doing lipo.

I wonder if the future Castle Creations ESC could do the trick, or maybe the current Tekin ESC via the hotwire software? The current MM has a custom cutoff mode you can program to whatever you want based on voltage. Though of course, its sensorless so probably no good here, but rumor has it they have a sensored unit on the way.

The Tekin RS though is sensored, very curious about that ESC. anyone who has it and the hotwire software hookup thing, can you set your cutoff to whatever you want?

I believe with the Sphere the only difference between Lipo and 4-7 cell mode is there is no cutoff with the 4-7 cell mode. Somehow this seems like too easy of a fix.

Danny, do we know for sure it's the lipo cutoff doing this or is there something else at play?

I'm confused. Wouldn't using a Rx pack bypass the BEC and eliminate the dumping feeling completely???

I should be posting some pics of this pack wired up in my db12 with receiver pack Wednesday, and doing some 17.5 testing Saturday.
Cant wait!!
