Biggest thing I can say about the Mazda body is it carves the entire corner. The Stratus 2.0 gets in good, but does not carry tons of corner speed. Mazda gets in just as good and continues to stay good. Definitely a good body.................

Congratulations guys!

Great show for the Warpspeed cars!

What do think about the motors you used?

Could we have a setup or two including a comment form the driver on their driving style and comprehension of the track? This so we can better understand the setup.

Does anyone have pictures of the Warpspeed cars, people and action posted somewhere? Like a team Warpspeed picture collection?

Again, great job guys! I whish I could have been there!!!

Ole C,

It would be hard for me to talk abut my driving style. I try to be smooth and I need a car that steers just right for me. I am VERY picky about my cars steering feel. A bit aggressive going in, but not too much-then with a constant setting of the wheel I want car to steer from mid-corner to exit, stay pretty tight, but not over rotate on exit. And of course-while this is all going through my head-I want car to carry corner speed. I'm not picky am I???

Heres my set-up:

Warpspeed Demon1 with adjustable wheelbase and Warpspeed diff cases and CD Racing screw kit. 3mm top deck and 2.5mm bottom deck. Ice Blue!!!

SHOCKS
50 wt ae oil front #3 piston ae purple spring
50 wt ae oil rear #3 piston irs 27.5 springs (silver)

BODY
Parma X20 mounted low as possible. WIng in middle hole.
I ran with full fenders behind rear wheels till Main-then cut them off. Just trying to free up car even more. The Parma X20 also TQ'd Stock class!!!

FRONT SUSPENSION
f-block and f-0 block
Shocks middle hole on tower, inside on arm. Camber link short-up.
Losi 4* hubs and spindles.
NTC3 steering rack.
stock sway bar
irs diff tight
irs comp dog bones

REAR SUSPENSION
f-block and r+2+2
shocks outside hole on arm and on tower.
ae hubs
camber link long and up
diff not too tight
irs comp dog bones.
short wheelbase setting on arms.
longest wheelbase setting for rear suspension

TIRES
Jaco orange/purple front sauced to orange
Jaco purple sauced full
Tires 1.277 for Main.

MOTOR
handout w/ Trinity cross cut 99 brushes full and purple springs. new brushes every run. 90 seconds break in @ 2v and one dyno run on Fantom Dyno. No drops.

Here's my setup from the champs. I like a car that is fairly easy to drive but steers and rotates well throughout the corner, my car sure did, as Ray and Seth will attest.

Demon 1, 2.5 mm chassis, 3 mm top deck, wide, all blue ice.

Front:
Yellow Spring
60 wt AE oil
#3 Piston
Outer hole on regular front tower
Inner hole on arm
Upper Inner camber link
BRP .078 swaybar
Losi steering knuckles
F-0 Block
-1 camber
0 toe
2 mm droop over ride height

Rear:
Copper Spring
50 wt AE oil
#2 piston
Outer hole on tower
Outer hole on arm
Upper Inner camber link
No sway bar
Losi rear hubs, outer hole on hub
Middle wheelbase
R+2-0 and regular R blocks
-1 camber
1.5 mm droop over ride height

5 mm ride height
Protoform Mazda 6 body, wing mounted in the center
T.M. Plaid/Purple 28 mm tires, trued to 60 mm (big rim)

Motor:
Epic Binary Handout, 4505 brushes, full face, purple/red, Hurricane Blue Thunder drops used in break in. 120 second break in at 2v.

I was amazed at how well the car rotated with that setup; I tell ya it's the Mazda body! As you can see from pics, the track was super-tight and technical...very fun, however.

None of us have been able get a Demon 2 to work well on carpet with foam tires on a track with decent traction. It is just too stuck because of the short wheelbase. It does not want to rotate well when the traction comes up. However it does seem to be VERY good on any surface with rubber tires

But our Demon 1's were dialed

Rob Love Cleveland A main stock set up:

Front:
#2 pistons - 50 AE oil - purple springs
shocks middle on tower and in on arm
camber link up and out (short)
droop set at 5 on AE gauge
2 kick up
4 degree Losi caster blocks w/Losi steering hubs
.110 ackerman
.060 bump steer
.062 sway bar
-1 1/2 camber
BSR purple-orange

rear:
#2 piston - 50 AE oil - purple springs
shocks out on tower and out on arm
camber link up and in on tower and out on hub (long)
droop set at 5 on AE gauge
f block shimmed .060
3+2 block
Losi 1/2 degree blocks mounted backwards
TOTAL: 1.5 degree toe per wheel and roughly 3 mm of antisquat
BSR purple

Niftech traction
Narrow 3mm top deck
Warpspeed diff cases

I ran both cars at Cleveland (Demon and tub with top deck). The Demon is a bit better. Car is easier to drive, carries more corner speed, transitions easier, and has ZERO torque steer in stock or mod.

Default Do you guys

Have a set up for Bumpy Tracks?

I think the reason why I am having a hard time tuning my car is all of you guys run on smooth, slick asphalt track. (I just experiment with the set up posted and work my way down)

I ran on a bumpy old track. Softer springs and no sway bars made the car behaved. but bottoms out a lot.

Do you have any set up for bumpy tracks?

Thanks

My set up listed is for the Warpspeed Demon 1 chassis. Victor is now making a 3mm top deck that is a bit more narrow than the standard deck that comes in the kit. I will try to post pics tomorrow.

Default Champs D1 set-up.

I did some measurements on my car just now and my droop was set at #1.5 on ae droop gauge on front and #5 on rear.

I also put CA on the edges of my tires both front and rear. On the rear it was mostly done to combat peeling of tire. In front was to keep car from digging in too much at turn in.

I too ran NIFTECh traction compound. Basically everyone else ran Paragon.

Hey all,

Heres another cool stat from the race. After 9 runs at the Champs, I didnt bend a single hingepin or break one single part. Cars tough.

Also and this has happended enough times its gotta be a real advantage-on standing starts the car goes like heck out of the hole. I blew by Juraj Hudy and the next guy at Champs before even hitting the sweeper!!! At the pre-Champs race I also went from 10th to like 7th in about 40'. It gives a great advantage on the first lap being able to out accelerate everyone else.
