Default Awesome D1 set-up

Okay-I know thats awful big of me to post awesome-but it really is!! This is for Foam tires, stock motor and Ozite carpet.

FRONT
60 wt oil #3 piston. Yellow Spring or White.
Shock in outside hole on tower, inside on arm.
Camber link up and short or up and long.
F-0 block, 6-degree c-hubs
NTC3 rack w/ Losi steering spindles.
Sway bar-I ran stock AE-but think the Buds 0.078" would be better.

REAR
50 wt oil #3 pistons, Purple springs.
Shock middle hole on top-outer hole on arm.
Camber link as high and as long as possible.
r-2-0 rear block, Losi 1/2 degree blacks on backwards.

JACO OR/Purple front tires JACO Purple rear tires 28mm.
NIftech and or Jack the Gripper traction compound.

Ray, your last e-mail that you sent to me about the Demon setup didn't mention th rear Losi 1/2 degree blocks. In regards to the rear block, is there a difference between r-2-0 and r+2-0 or is everyone referring to the same thing? How much rear toe will I have with the Losi 1/2 carriers reversed?

Default Losi rear hubs!!

Dave-Thats because you said you wanted a set-up that didnt have as much front traction and steering!! So for you I recommended the stock rear hubs. This set-up is 1 degree rear toe in I do believe!!! What I sent you had 2-degrees rear toe in. 2+0-0 is the same as 2-0-0!!!
It s fast-but at the expense of feeling planted while turning in. Cars edgy at turn in like this.

Thanks Ray,

If your running the Losi 1/2 degree hubs, and if put on backwards then they will take out a 1/2 degree of toe-in. So by your set-up I think your running 1.5.

Also, are you running six degrees of castor? i.e. Six degree "c-Hubs"?

Thanks!

Oh yeah before I forget, are you running the rear tower up front or standard front tower?

Thanks, Again!

Doug,

YOur welcome!! Axiom and I are running this basic set-up and love it!! Only difference is Axim is TQ'ng and winning the A!!!

I use 6-degree LOsi C-hubs. I am going to try 4 degree next race. See if car will carry more speed in the longer corners.

And last I run the normal shock tower up front.

Just don't start a war!

There are, after all, many different conversion kits for many different cars...

Agreed-more is not always bad. The Barracuda and HPI's-fluorish because of the options available. Same deal with the TC3. This could actually be good for the Demon!!!

Default Actually

the IRS Side braces on a D1 looks really cool, not that it needs it, but more for the electronics protection.

as close to 4mm front and rear as possible. U I usualy set it at 4.5 mm for first run then dot check ride height again till the Mains.

Just to compenste for tire wear and droop settings etc. OH-on droop I can lift the car from ride height about 2.5mm front and rear. I vary that if the car feels lazy or too responsive front or rear.
