I don't think dead shorting was done or advised to be done to Sanyo 3000 HV's like they were with 2400's or some are doing with the 3300's. Your battery is pretty much done because it's old so you wouldn't be losing anythign by doing it. Just make sure you do like they said and discharge it as low as you can before dead shorting.

don't dead short it right after the dean's lightblub discharger "click" or right after you discharge it using my CDC. You need to put on a discharge tray to drop the voltage down to 0.0V otherwise you will get a good light show or worst a fire work!!!

You will need to pickup John's or my discharger tray!!!

Just like Ranman suggested, discharge the pack and put them on a tray for a few days ( deadshorting the batt individually) , followed this method i was able to bring back my old 3300 to peak about 9.3+- and had about 3100-3200 in the batt..
Folks...

Tag did it on his GP3300's.... and he did not mention in on the Sanyo's...

You need to get the cells way below 0.9v before you dead short - otherwise much sparking and probably a bit of cell damage. 0v is best.

discharge your 3300 to .90 v per cell and put them on the tray (0 V) you will see the difference .
