Unplug the sensor harness from the motor. Remove the the screw holding on the plastic cover. Pop off the cover, remove the sensors. It might require a little twisting action to get them out. You will then be able to oil the bearing. Just add a little oil, too much can just cause contamination of the sensor board.

While you have the sensors out now would be a good time to clean them before reinstalling. Spray the 3 legs with a little electronic safe spray. Then gently wipe them off with a clean rag. When you put the cover back on make sure that you install the timing insert in the correct position.

Reconnect the sensor harness.

I have a motor that got a lil hot. Motor is still running but not at peak. Does lrp not make a replacement stator for this motor like the duo's?

I would try replacing the rotor they are effected by the heat most. If the stator is not shorted then there should be no issue with it.

last weekend my 17.5 lrp x12 came off at 250F, with visible smoke, i forgot to turn down my tekin after switching from a different brand motor. Anyway the motor still runs strong. I have heard that lrp's can take lots of heat, but now i am sure they can.

Hi Sean,
what endbell timming for 13.5 X-12 would you suggest for WGT with 0timing (going to TQ this weekend?)

i tried the 3dot and torque was ok, but speed was down, and now realize i should have left in the 2dot?
So should i try to tune rollout with 2dot or get more timing to work?
thanks for any help on this,
tony

That's hard to say as I have not run any 0 timing. I would think you would want to use 2 dot or maybe even 1 dot timing and then find the right gear.

I know this is the x12 forum, but can anyone tell me what size bearings the x11 takes and are they the same size as the x12?

The lower the number, the faster the motor. 17.5, 13.5, and 10.5 are considered "Spec" motors (17.5 being slower than 10.5), and all of the lower number motors are considered "Modified" motors. The "turns" refers to the number of times the wire is wound around the core of the stator. Usually, higher turn motors use thinner gauge wire, so they carry less current. Lower turn motors use thicker gauge wire, and carry a lot more current.

i am trying to gather info for an 13.5 zerotiming WGT class.

it looks like people are using the 4dot insert in a similiar way to a duo2 or tekin at 0 endbell timing.

so a duo2 at 20degrees would suggest trying a 1dot or 0dot insert?

has anybody tried this?
