GFX is complete with blue cathode tubes. Looks awesome and i'll take pics tonight. I still need to wire up a switch so I can turn off the tube inside the case. It seems to produce so much light that it makes the screen look dim. I need to block the light going to the screen somehow from the tube. Anyone have any suggestions? Electrical tape? Pics to follow shortly...it looks awesome!

Elec tape sounds good to me. Should block the light pretty well.

yeah, i figured I would line the whole back with black tape and also around the edges as light gets in now. It doesn't create any heat so I doubt it would be an issue and I could see my numbers! You know, seeing the gfx numbers is an issue in the first place...imagine dropping it down to 20% contrast cause a light is behind it. LOL

John what is the current draw of the cathodes? Just wondering how much of a load they put on things. ( I have heard some of the inverters draw upwards of 5amps) I have thoguht about doing this as well but didn't want to if it was an amp hog. Keep us posted!

Here's the specs

Specifications
Length: 4.25 inches of pure light.
Diameter: .25 inches
Encased in a 100% acrylic shell, enabling 360 degrees of light
Special coated 12V inverter for safety.
Average Current Demand +/- 350mA at 12VDC.
Average Current Damand +/- 4.3w.
High-Quality Jam-Nut Switch installs quickly and Easily
Long Lifespan

So 350 mA is nothing for my 30 amp rivergate

Cool! Guess what I was told was not true. Can you post the link where purchsed your cathodes. I am very interested in trying some myself. That kind of draw as you said is nothing! Can't wait to see pics.
