Default Core RC 5000mah Lipos...

Here is a quote from Adrian from this forum...

"
The Core 5000mah LiPo is a new product we are testing. It will sell for the same price as the Orion 4800. The Core 5000 is a 2s1p pack (2 5000 cell in series. The Orion is 2 pairs of 2400 cells in parallel then connected in series to make a 2s2p 4800 battery. The Core 5000 will have a lower internal resistance and better curretn delivery capacity.
"

Does anyone have any other info on them or if Adrian is reading this can you post more info regarding the Core Lipos? They look like a good alternative to Orion/Peak Platniums.

So, is it just me, or did like 5 major companies make announcements about their new line of LiPo batteries in the last two weeks? Pretty cool. The era of LiPo is visible on the horizon.

I havent found internals or c ratings anywhere. Yes, these are hard cased in a shiny black plastic.

Hopefully we can find out where these companies are sourcing their cells from, as that will tell the whole story. Regardless, it's nice to see some options out there.

syndrome, i haven't seen them all. can you consolidate a list of all the new lipos available? i know this may be unpopular. but for several reasons, i am a big fan of a "hard cased lipos only" rule.. that however is another days battle..

I feel like there was another one, but I can't remember it. I'm with you on using a hard case. Cue the "budget" crowd telling us how great their cheap LiPo's are.

For giggles, at any given time, count how many threads on the first page of this forum are related to LiPo. Anybody that tells you it's not going to happen is in denial. It's already happened.

Tekin.

I'm anxious to see the market flooded new new, GOOD quality packs. I hope all of these new ones are hard cased and have followed some standard size and layout that has already been used by Orion to maybe assist in the standardization for acceptance. The 4mm bullet connector is nice, too...

All but Tekin I believe. Check out redrc.net, he does a good job staying on top of new product announcements and such.

Adrian also mentioned to us that the plugs will be moved around some to make the "fit" more practical. Also, the version coming to the USA will have deans plugs.

It's good that they are making it 5000...anything above that would make all of us with the flight chargers want to go buy new chargers so we could charge @ 1C .

Uh oh. At the bottom it says the Lipo will achieve its top performance when its temperature is 100 degrees.

Now I wait for my Much More CTX Lipo warmer.
