Has Anyone Tried Using PC Power Supplies for charging??????

I would like to hear from anyone who has successfully used a pc power supply for battery charging, are their any mods necessary and what size/type of power supply did you use???

any help would be greatly appreciated.

We used the same article at one point to convert a computer power supply, and it works fine.

I used the same article to build mine. It worked great until it blew up. I forgot to insulate it, DOH! Just make sure you do EVERYTHING the article says.

I am...sorta. In data centers they use 48V and 12V power to run things. Why? I dunno. I got a hold of a 12V 50A Lambda supply that I use. It sounds like a jet, but it has enough juice to run my chargers, and everyone elses around me. They can be had for really cheap (I paid $20 for mine) if you hunt the surplus places.

:D
