ZX racing batteries!

Glad to hear they ran well for you. Let me know how they do next week against the higher end batteries

Punch lasts much longer and only dropped off a tad after it's 4 cycle, but it was still miles ahead of my old batt's. Racing at mimi's next week will give me a better idea of how the stack up against more expensive cells.
Cheers.

Sent you a e-mail. Let me know if you get it. I had to rebuild my Mail Server when I got home so I want to make sure it is working.
Thanks.

Fat Doggy-
What I found this weekend was charging the cells at 6amps and a 60mv cuttoff. I had a temp gun and when charging at 6amps with a 50mv cuttoff the cells would peak at 120 degreese. I was peaking with about 3800MAH in the pack. Bumped it up to 60mv and the packs peaked at 145 degrees 3950MAH and had a lot of punch throughout the run.
30mv at 6amps is not enough. You may want to try at least 6amps at 50mv too.
The Track I was at was kind of cool so that is the reason for bumping up the cutoff. if it was 90 degrees out I would do 50mv or even 40mv.

mike_Webb - Thanks for the tips.
I'll try 6amps at 50mv next time I race and then 60mv if needed.
Question - Are there any ill effects of not fully discharging/equalizing them before re-charging to use in a later race in the same day? After a race day I dump and equalize them and let them sit till the next race day.

The Only Ill effects are that your packs may have a cell or two that peak before the others. Not really that big of a deal. What I do is at the start of the day I will put all my packs on a Integy Discharge Tray that takes each cell to 0. I leave it on the tray for about 15-20min. Then I take them off and run the pack once for practice. Then I discharge the pack to 5.4 volts and let it rest for about 1-2 hours. Then I Charge the packs as needed for the Qualifier and Mains... After they are done for the day again I take it down to 5.4volts and leave them for the next week. So I tray them once.
I am going to get a Rayspeed Discharger. 2 settings. Condition and Equalize. So I will equalize the pack before I charge them for the first time that day racing and then after that I will Condition them. I am not 100% sure but I think the Conditioning takes each cell down to .9 on NIMH mode and .1 on Nicad Mode.

Cool, I'll give that method a shot and see how it works out.
Cheers.
