Are you guys at ZX having trouble getting 1.17's out of the new cells? I noticed they were sold out.
Thanks

All the Top of the line packs from any matcher right now are having problems like this. Some of my firends that race for other matchers are waiting for cells.
Only way to get the higher voltage packs right now is to find a Matcher that has older cells.
However with the newer cells you give up some voltage and gain some runtime and so really low IR's so it is kind of a gain in other areas I guess.

I was just curious. The last time I bought new cells was when the 2000's were the big thing. I'm just getting back into racing and am trying to get stocked up again. It's amazing how much better the batteries are now but cost so much less. What happened?

Dimples,
What happened is a combination of competition and china. Back when 2000's were big, Sanyo was pretty much the only game in town. To make matteres worse, they had an exclusive North American distribution deal w/ Trinity which pretty much meant that the combination of Sanyo and Trinity could set prices to be whatever they wanted.
Along came GP (Gold Peak) and not only did they significantly undercut Sanyo (partially because it's far cheaper to manufacture in China vs Japan) but they do not have an exclusive distribution agreement with Trinity which leads to MUCH lower prices for everyone

John - I recieved the cells yesterday, 4 days shipping is sick. I've had to wait up to 3 weeks before to recieve online orders. Numbers look nice on the copper packs. 1.158v-1.159, 407-409secs. Only got a quick look at them since there a christmas present. I'm really looking foward to building them and trying them out. Thanks for the fast free shipping, the cell shrink wrap and the good deal. I'll post again once I've run them.

Ran my pack yesterday, lasts much longer, I'm used to having 5min 10sec runtime in stock, with the 3300's I still had 1000mah left after the race. Punch lasts much longer and only dropped off a tad after it's 4 cycle, but it was still miles ahead of my old batt's. Racing at mimi's next week will give me a better idea of how the stack up against more expensive cells.
Cheers.
Cheers.
