Here is a little race report.

My friend this weekend has two packs of ZX Cells. He ran very well... considering he never had a chance to charge them fully. His Charger was screweing up. The first pack got about 2000MAH in it I was running Promatch and Fukuyama Packs since I have not recevied my ZX Racing packs yet. He was able to keep up with me for about the first four min of the race (I was running the 1.178 Fuku cells. I think his packs are 1.171 and 1.172) and was even beating me out of the corners. Of couse he has a TC3 and I have a XRAY but still his packs really had a lot of punch. I thought that maybe he had a bad cell or something at the track but he just sent me a e-mail saying that his charger was messing up. The second pack got about 2800MAH in it and lasted the whole race. He beat me in that one only becasue I stuffed my car in the boards on the last lap.

This just goes to show that even with a partial charge he was able to be competitive. I am usually a better driver then him but he has a lot of Practice Indoors this year over me. . We will see how he does down at Snowbirds

Got my 2 Packs on Friday and Ran them on Saturday. The Packs were really good.

1st Qual I used my Fuku Pack. 1.178 411runtime. Ran a 17 5:14... It was a clean run.

2nd Qual I used the ZX Racing 1.179 415 Pack. Ran a 17 5:02.. and had a accident with the guy that was TQ... I came up on him and went to pass him on the inside and he wasn't going to have that so he slammed me into the boards and I got stuck there until the marshal was able to make it over to me.

3rd Qual I used the ZX Racing 1.179 422 pack. Ran a 18 5:02.. Clean run until the 4:45 mark where I was T-Boned and hit the wall and my Motor came off the Spur.. I could have turned 19 Laps.

A-Main. I ran my 1.65 Pro-Match Pack that I was testing Dead-Shorting on. I didn't want to repeak the first ZX Racing pack I ran because I did not want to push them. I was in 2nd till the 3 min mark and then coming up on lap traffic 2 cars slammed each other and the Marshal ran out to get their car and stepped in front of mine. I ended up getting 9th place...but had a broken car.

This was with a TC3 with the New Reedy 19turn Quad Motor.

Mike,

Glad to hear the batteries ran well for you.

Are you still running at Snowbirds? What classes?

Race Report-

Yesterday we had the Mid Atlantic Carpet Clash at my home track. In 19 turn the top 3 were able to turn 21 laps or greater. These were done by SMC and Promatch Sponsored Drivers. Position 4- 10 all turned 20 laps and seperated by 4 seconds. I was able to Qualify 6th for the A.

First Qualifier I ran 1 of my 2 ZX Racing Packs. Got through the the infield and when I came onto the straight a Novice Driver thought he could take the Freqency Clip and turn his radio on in the Pits and sent my car into the wall. So I did 0 laps in the first Qual.

2nd Qualifier I deceided to run my Fukuyama 1.179 pack. Off the bat I was fast but by the 2 min mark the pack went flat. I had no punch coming out of the corners. This could be because the pack is going flat or because I may have overgeared the motor. I was running a 30 Rollout. Turned 19 Laps 5:11. B main

3rd Qualifier I deceided to repeak my ZX Racing pack that I ran during the 1st quaifier. This was the 4th run on the pack that day. All my other packs I ran a total of 2 times that day. I ran this one extra during a practice session when the power went out at the Track. I figured that this was a chance that this pack was going to be flat also since I was running it a little to much that day. I ended up listening to a friend that was running almost a 31 rollout so I kept my gearing the same. Went out for the qualifier and turned a 20 5:02. The pack had punch throughout the whole run but coming to the line at the end of the race I hung it up on the board and that cuased me at least 4 seconds since I had to regain myself after the brush with the board and was out of the groove. I could have easily turn 21 laps if not for that.

For the Main I ran my other ZX Racing pack. 1.177. At the start I was able to cut to the inside of turn 1 in second place with my Friend Mike just on the outside. He cut to the inside taking second away and I went wide to miss a car that was bouncing off the wall. By turn 2 there was a pileup and myself, my friend Mike and Billy Spence were the top 3. By the 2 min mark we were still 1,2,3, and then I hit lap traffic and one guy put me into the boards allowing Tom to get right on top of me. I made a mental mistake by going wide into a corner and Tom was able to get by and then again I got slammed and a marshall had to do something to my car.. I was now in 6th and I was able to drive clean and get by the slower guys and get back up into 4th only 5 seconds behind Tom but by then the race was over with myself taking 4th place. I have to go back and look at why my motors fell off the pace. It could have been because I have 11 runs on my brushes...opps . I guess I will buy another motor so that I can use just that motor in the Main .

Mike,

Glad to hear the batteries are still performing well for you.

Are you going to be able to make it to the Cleveland race this year?

No Cleveland this year. Can't get the time off work. Just Snowbirds now and probably the Carpet National's in March.

I've ordered a copper pack. I've been running 1.11v 2400 smc packs for 1 and a half years so it should be a big change. I'll post again once I've test run them. Free shipping is a nice bonus. If there nice I'll be getting some more.
