Default EU spec chassis needed

Hey, I picked up a 009 and found out it was the US Foam Spec. I am looking for the EU rubber spec. Anyone have a chassis and top plates they coul dsell or trade for my foam spec items. My chassis plates are in great condition - no scratches at all!!!

I would hate to tear it up on asphalt.

Potoczak: the change in the length of the plastic shocks came about when they released the 008 and stayed the same until T3. The longer shock comes from the 007.

mwoods: difference is in on and off power transition. It makes it smoother and thus the car is easier to drive.

sell682: the best starting point is Paul Lemieux's IIC 2009 setup.

Default shimmed shocks

HI Guys,

Can any one help me understand the idea behind the 2mm shims xray staes in there manual as adjusting the steering. By this I mean why moving the shocks 2mm away from the tower changes the cars handling?

If any one has tried this can you also help with what end to do it on what effect it has, i.e front shimmed- less steering, rear shimmed-more steering? Shims front and rear less all around?

One last thing, do you shim the top and bottom of the shock?

thanks in advance,

mi

are there any steel 52mm cvds from other brands which can be used in the T2? the xray spring steel ones are expensive; i do not require such exotic material for my weekend runs.
thks.

Default steel

steel ones -- no not that I am aware of.
Some alum ones but I have not heard how they hold up.
I am guessing they would be fine---as with any material to a point.

If you plan to keep the car for a while or even upgrade to the t-3 they will transfer. So -- it is an investment.---- plus they are optimiz-- no I can't finish that.

Anyway they will not make your car faster--- but they seem to make it smoother so that may translate to better lap times.

later,
Darrald

Xray has always been synonomus with Xpensive lol!!!

The Plus side to that is that they hold up pretty well...is it worth the premium price tag? well that's another matter for debate. The only part that I have seen the MOST issues so far is with the ECS drive Shafts!!!! and yes those are REALLY expensive.

Ok Ill say it. If you do not require such exotic materials why do you own an Xray? Sell it and buy a used TC3 or an Ofna JL10e.

Sorry for stating the obvious. But your like the guy who buys a Ferrari and whines about having to put premium fuel in it.
