I have both, the LiPo move outside kit and the higher top deck.
Run with the higher top deck. Works perfect with GM 5000 30C LiPos. Also the GM 6200 goes below BUT there is nearly no room for the top deck to flex.

As said by others if the plugs are in the front you should not have any problems.

Lipo raising pads are worst thing ever done to that car.
We used it and simply couldn't keep it on car - it screwed up handling considerably. We ended up making custom shims to achieve same thing but without stiffening everything, then car came to life again.

Can you run a t3 10 top deck on a 009? Every thing looks like it would line up by the pictures I've seen.

No you can't. The T2 009 top plate sits much lower than the T3 2010. Unless you decide to shim it by a lot, it will not clear the layshaft. Also you will only be about to mount it with just the two furthest screws in the rear.

Really unless you are desperate, why? Even if you make it fit by some means, you could lose performance by the chassis not being able to flex properly.

No, pretty sure the 2007 diff is slightly different

007 is a different car than the 008 and onward.

008 and 009 are practically the same.

T3 is only different than 008 and 009 because of the 38T gear. T3 drive ratio is 1.9 vs 1.7 for 008 and 009.

I have both a T2 007 & a T2R Pro with a T2 009 aluminum diff & composite front axle with 38 tooth pulleys. While they will physically bolt in, the belt will be out of line by 3mm. The pulley is 3mm closer to the bearing bulkheads due to the layshaft change on the T2 008 & newer to keep the belts in alignment. While you could get away with running one up front in a pinch (I ran a borrowed 34 tooth front composite solid axle when I broke an outdrive on my multi-diff in my 007 in December), I think prolonged running would eat up the belt. The belt misalignment is so severe in the back, the car would be in a bind and something would get damaged. BTW, the 007 is being retired and the T2R Pro I just picked up last week will be my new VTA car.

Gearing for xray T2 009, internal gear ratio is 1.7.

Will this fit? 80t spurgear with 33T pinion?
trying to get around 4.1 fdr with 17.5 blinky on tight carpet track, or am i better off getting 32t ?

I got 80, 82T spurgear, 18, 22, 25, 34T pinion. 80/34 is too tight.

What gear ratio do fit? i cant afford to waste money on pinion/spurgear.

First be sure you are using XRAY offset spur gears. They fit better than aftermarket sour gears.

80/34 is exactly 4.0
80/32 is 4.25

You really need to make the investment in 64 pitch gears. They will allow you to get closer ratios between gear changes and will allow you get get numerically lower gear ratios. Get a 96 tooth 64 pitch XRAY spur gear Composite Offset Spur Gear 96T / 64 part # 305866 or a 100 tooth 64 pitch spur gear Composite Offset Spur Gear 100T / 64 part # 305870. The 96 tooth gear is equivalent to a 72 tooth 48 pitch sour and the 100 tooth is equivalent to a 75 tooth 48 pitch spur. Between these two spur gears and 4 64 pitch pinions (40, 41, 42, & 43), you should be able to tune your gear ratio anywhere between 3.795 & 4.250 for what ever track you are on. If you just want to get the 4.1 radio first get a 41/100 (4.146).

If you want to stick with 48 pitch, get an XRAY Offset Spur Gear 78T/48. With the 78 tooth XRAY spur, use a 32 tooth pinion to get a 4.144 FDR.

It doesnt have be extactly 4.00 fdr. wanna get around 4.0 - 4.2

does 33t and 80 fit (mesh, not too tight)? and i got 80t and would like to use that spur gear. if not I can buy 32/78 like you said.

That will make 4.12fdr which is ok with me. I am just a club racer, it doesnt have to be perfect.

You don't need to go that small on the spur. I use a 92T spur XRAY305862 and can get down to as low as 3.128 for larger tracks. Keep in mind, the XRay can only use XRay spurs unless you use those super thin RW spurs. You can't just put any Kimbrough or Robinson spur into the gear holder. Because of the offset it will not fit those thicker spur gears.

YR4Dude,

Vrooom is using 48 pitch gears. I explained that 64 pitch gears would be better for the FDRs he wants to run but it looks like Vrooom is insisting on staying with 48 pitch gears which is why I recommended the 78 tooth XRAY spur gear (That is the smallest 48 pitch gear XRAY makes).

I use 48 pitch accumulated from offroad rides. Kimbrough spurs work for me fine. If not, you can sand down the center area to make it fit. Also, I have the diffs flopped from stock. It moves the front belt away from the spur and pinion.

Pretty sure 33/80 is not going to fit. Your gonna have to get a lower pinion, and spur. Do your research and order the ones you need. You and I both really need to go to 64p though!

I think I have a 48 pitch XRay gear lying around. I'll have to check my box and see.
