If you have any more questions, just post on here and i will do my best to help you out.

Ryan.
on the flipside, what is the largest pinion size you could run with 84t spur?

48 pitch
90T does fit, that's what we used in the Drag 08 (+ holds NSW's fastest ET record)

Cant exactly remember, but i think its around 28t. If your planning on running stock, then you will need a lot smaller. Something in the low 70's For ss 78 should be the go.

how important is it to run the offset spur gears? or does it not really make a difference?

If your running round cells you need to to keep the pinion comfortably away fromthe battery bar. With Lipo I find they tend to sit further out to the chassis edge and that's not as big of a concern. Spur width would be since distance between belts is narrow.

Hey guys I'm shopping for a lipo plate one I can use like 5000 with. I realy don't want to raise the top plate and I would also like someting that would make the battery sit off the chassis aswell any suggestions where I can get this and links to who has this. Thanks

Manutech Tray is just awesome, I have two of them. If you have a dremel, you can take time to drill out the holes to get a perfect balance... stormerhobbies.com is the place to get it.

Default lipo plate

Neil,
Eric has some plates at the track.
PPD billet makes some and he can be found in the for sale section-- under ppd billet or verndog. Sorry I don't have link.
It also depends which lipo you want to run. The new ones(SMC) are quite heavy and I had to lighten my plates(drill them out) to get the car balanced as opposed to the other batts I was using.

Eric has some that come in 2 pieces so you may not have to lighten them.

Later,
Darrald

Zeppin racing have some individual lipo weights for the xray and they come in packs of 6. I am thinking of gettng these as i have the Xray lipo weights and an extra 2 of these zeppin ones would get rid of all the ugly lead i have on board. They say they prevent tweak like some of the solid plates can do as the chassis can still flex like it needs to. Link here http://www.zeppinracing.com/product_info.php?pid=85
