Default Sphere ESC vs LRP QC3 ESC

Hey Guys,

I'm just looking to start into on-road, and have been doing some investigation. Anyway, when I go to my LHS they always tell me that I have to purchase the Ferrari of everything to be competitive. This I know is BS.

Anyhow, they are pushing the Sphere ESC which is $250. However I was noticing that there is a LRP QC3 ESC that looks similar. Does anyone have any experience with this ESC? Is it a decent one for Touring Car stock/mod racing?

Also I cann't seem to find in the stats if it's for a brushless or brushed motor setup.

Any insight would be helpful!

Thanks!

The Sphere is brushless, the QC3 is brushed. Not as much tech goes into the brushed, therefore the lower price. Brushless motors will be easier to maintain in the long run, the motors are more efficent, too. Since everything is going brushless now days, I'd also have to say get a brushless speed controller.
