Default Brushless dyno runs?

Has anyone done any dyno testing with brushless motors?
There used to be a lot of dyno info on brushed stock motors and trying to get every watt of power out of them, but there hasn't been much, if any info found for brushless motors.

I am not sure it is exactly the same as the old timer DYNO for brushed motor, but I know this is a lot cheaper and probably will generate the same amount of info like the old timer dyno system...for roughly $250. For that price, everyone can do their own dyno (or gather several friends and chip in and buy 1 to share)

This is the only thing I have seen for doing a brushless motor analysis:

I have received that product from SP. Only thing is missing is the manual (I knew that when I placed the order), but now they have wiring information I'll give it a try

Yes, this is what i was referring to

If you download this is the software that communicates with the unit.

I wont be soon to my house to check so you might as well see for yourself

Looks very nice!

By reading the product sheet this will work with any ESC but provides additional features for SP ESC's. Correct?

If I'm not mistaken, only difference is that you can UPGRADE the SP ESC with this unit.

You can also change it's settings but this you can do with the setting card given with the esc

The only set back I see from a dyno test is with brushed motors we could align the hoods, zapp magnets, change brushes, etc..... What can you do if your brushless motor is a dud? There's nothing currently out for regular guys to zapp a rotor is there? I remember seeing a device that showed rotor strength but again....if the rotor is on the weak side then what???

1. new rotor
2. new motor

Some guys claim if you hook a BL motor up to a CE turboDyno with the esc inline to the motor, and hit the throttle as you hit the start button you can dyno a BL motor. I have not seen this personally, but supposedly oval guys have tried it...

This will work will all sensor based ESC's, but you can do the ESC software upgrade with the SP ESC's.

This should also be available in the US within the next 7 days.

Without a torque measurement, isn't this really an RPM check? Yes it tells you voltage input, and amp draw, but you can't have a true power (Watt) output measurement without torque.
