I do agree that there is a lot of expense involved but lets take it form business/company stand point. Lets assume that which ever combination of manufactures win will see an annual increase of 10% in sales. By combination I mean for example (Yokomo (tires) AE (Chassis) LRP (esc) batteries (SMC) the radio we can call agree is subjective. Lets say each manufacture see $100,000. They spend $10,000 for that test another $20,000 for the race total $30,000. Now with that bottom line 70% return is not a back breaker.

Keep in mind MOST of the participants are sponsored and ALL the sponsors share the expenses to some degree. So of that $30,00 that was used to send the driver LRP for example may only spend $5,000 to see it's bottom line increase by nearly $95,000 plus bragging rights which with the current market is still PRICELESS!!!!!!!

When we supplied every A-main driver with tires at the 1996 Worlds, Masami still won by a mile. He just really knows his stuff on asphalt. Obviously he is sharing some of his knowledge with his teammates.
Agreed. This is why I feel those sanctioning bodies who elect tire dope and tire rules will be more attractive to racers.... Like world GT in Vegas this year.

If I saw a $100,000 increase in sales from this event I would be over there now truing tires with my teeth. You are grossly overestimating the size of the 1/12 scale tire market. The increase in sales percentage (if there were any) would not even pay for a ticket over there. Trust me...we've won the worlds in 1/12 and it did NOTHING for sales. And that was back when there were more than 50 entries at a worlds.
To further illustrate my point....Masami has won the worlds three or four times with TRC tires. It didn't do them a lot of good, did it?

It's cool seeing the industry from 'inside'. Heck with the onroad sales numbers period in the US, I'm surprised to see any of the US drivers over there...

10% sales increase would be phenomenal! Well I guess not, that would be about 10 more cars next year for any one company, haha!!

We are coming out with a new compound..."plaque". It is softer than "gingivitis", but has more corner speed than "tartar".
