Default Comparison of different BL motors?

Hi,

I've searched but not found any comparison/tests of different the BL motors. I'm particularly interested in 5.5T and 17.5T as these two are legal here.

As we run limited wind-count classes its important to get the most powerful legal motor. I'm sure there are differences between LRP, SP, Novak, Hacker, Losi etc.

Is there a side-by-side comparison with real-life test number?

Its really strange that dyno-test or just actual real-life credible numbers are so hard to find or even don't exist. Maybe someone has tested many motor and has comparable numbers?

"Feels best" , "seems nice" , "Is great" , "Most people use it" etc really doesn't matter Numbers count!

No one has dyno-tested different brands of BL motors? No one has used some Power-Logger to get track-date about different brands of BL motors?

No not really.

I think someone on the forum had some charts from a Robotrinc but I can't remember who or what brushless he tested.

But I'm not sure if bench test numbers will tell you which motor is better. I have found through my testing with 17.5's that each have a different feel but I could make each one just as fast depending on how I geared/timed/drove it. I'm sure the numbers would show something different with each...but which set of numbers would be correct? or show which one was best?

Thank you A LOT. That is just what I am talking about. Unfortunately guys have not been able to compare ESCs and motors side-by-side. With the dyno tests we could see how those super capacitors might help performance, how different ESCs handle different (same turn-count) motors. And of course - which ESC and motor gives the best overall/maximum performance.

This has been a positive news that we can use brushed motor dynos to compare brushless systems. Some of the figures themselves might not be 100% true, but comparing BL systems is possible.

Keep the info coming

The best way to tell what you should run is see what other guys your racing against are running. See if they'll let you drive their stuff.
