have you seen the real car??? i think even if you put 18" BBS wheels on it and lower the suspension, the car still *&#&%^$&*^. oh well, maybe i am just not a big american car fan.

So this thread has been reborn huh? Thats cool. I don't think it carries the same power though. there were people(including me)who reeeeeeeeaaaaaaalllllllllllllyyyyyyyyy were sick of seeing the stratus as the only body at major events and local tracks. But, now I don't think most of us hate it as much as when the thread started. Our local track now has a nice mix of 300m, Stratus, Accord, CLK DTM, and NSX bodies. As for the big races, I think its more of an american R/C thing now. Yes the major races here in the US still are dominated by the stratus. BUT, if you look at the races in the Eastern world, the drivers choose to run Vauxhall Opel Vectra's, Alfa Romeo 156's and even the BMW 3-series body with great success. Apparently, they have gotten the message quicker than US drivers, that you really don't HAVE to run the stratus to win.

Default Won't do it!

My next car body will be a 300M, Mitsubishi Lancer, or Mercedes. I hate the ugly Stratus, simply because it is presented as the only choice. Hmmmm, kinda like the old Trabants in East Germany. I run a Celica GTS body right now!

I run the 300m body now. Only because the shop was out of 190mm Vauxhall bodies. Its nice though. It looks really good on the track, which is all I'm really looking for.

And before anyone bust in about how I should care about how a body "handles", keep this in mind. We have a guy at our local track that uses an old, almost box shaped, Mercedes body on his Yokomo. To top it off he runs it about two levels to high on his body post. Yet, this guy is one of the fastest people there every race day. I know, I know, he could be even faster if he ran a Straus, yeah, ok! It has nothing to do with the fact that his "stock" motor is as fast as a mod. motor! Its all in the body!

Anyway, I think my next body will be either the Protoform Aston Martin DB7 or the F390 Modena. Both those bodies look amazing in Protoforms ad. So I'll give one of them a try. Probably the Aston Martin DB7.

say what you want darkside but I heard if you run a p2k arm in a gm3 can you will be as fast as the guy with the jacked up body.

neway the stratus is getting old so thats why I put different head & tail lights on it. its amazing what a stratus looks like with accord lights.

hoy ear guy: Well after I stuck my P2K armarature in my ParadoxPro can I was faster than him, but I promise you that by our next race on Sat. he'll be mysteriously faster again. I hate to see how fast he is with the Stratus on!

I don't know if the Stratus is getting old or not. I just know that the fast people at our local tracks have moved away from it and the still remain the fast people. And the slow people still running the Stratus are still the slow people.

I would like to see a newer version though. I mean come on, its the only popular body around that has undergone changes to match what the current model looks like.

Take a look at the Losi Stratus, that is a "2001" Stratus. ( better known as the XXX-S body.. or Stratus "Fear")

Sorry about that TSR6. I meant a newer version that can be raced at sanctioned events and the like. Not that it really matters, but it would be neat to see a legal version.

the ptoblem with that is there has not been any changes to the newer ones and have not been in any natcc races lately.
although I have found that the accord works just like a stratus and you'll notice the newer protoform bodies have a stratusesque look to them. and in most cases people are faster usually because they are smoother on the track.

Nope, sorry, chucking a P2K arm in a GM3 is the same as a GM3 arm in a GM3 can.

I think my next body for TC will be the vectra, or BMW...

how do you think so the motor has now been modified from its original can to go into another which is illegal in stock racing
which is now called a hybrid motor

It is a gorgeous body, but doesn't come with a decent wing, so I have to park it on my shelf and use it for display instead of racing.

Just saw the new winged GT-40 Protoform Body in the brand new issue of RC Car Action. Now that looks like a cool, raceable body.
