It would make the placement of drivetrain higher because batteries would take the place where belt should go. Them there is problem of electronics placement, there is option to stick it on the side. Idea is for belts to go along one side of car. There are many reasons, but it is possible. With belts its inefficient, but with shaft it would be possibe to find a place in middle of a car.

dude, the higher CG would almost have to accomadate the centered weight due to lower polar movement of inertia, which isn't a bad thing...

This guy logika, doesn`t know anything about cg, i think he`s getting tied up between cg and a ballanced chassis, just read back you`ll see.

well , if you want to have a low cg on a car with the centered battery and if you dont wont to have the belts going along the side , you could alwasy find a way to drill a hole trough the batteries like this you will have a low CG and everything centered.
