Default Xray

Josh,

I ran my new Xray for a pack tonight and was in need of more on-power steering. Basically all on exit. Maybe a tad less off-power.

I used your Nats set-up except I didnt have time to shorten the front camber link. I am in middle bottom.

I aslo double checked the set-up to make sure I wasnt too different on anything else besides the front camber link and I was. I had more rear uptravel (3mm), more rear toe-in (2 degrees) and softer rear spring (Blue).

For more-on power and less off-power in stock-would you shoot me one or two things to try please?

Also-would you elaborate on rear diff setting of free?

Thanks,
Ray

Default TC3 vs. X-ray

Josh,

I recently switched from a TC3 to a X-ray FT, and I was wondering whether you noticed the same difference I did.

The Xray seems to respond a lot slower than the TC3 does, this makes the Xray a lot more stable and easier to drive.
It does make me believe the TC3 should be faster on tight circuits.

Do you have any opinions on this or any setup suggestion?

Josh,

You know I am thinking about my last post and everything thats different on my car than yours would lead to less steering on exit-so I guess I answered my own Q.

Ray,

Did you notice on Josh's nats setup that he used stiffer rear springs than front? Unless I looked at the spring colors wrong.

Does anyone know how the XRAY springs compare to the Asso ones?
How do they rate/compare?

Regards,
Pizza

Aaron - Hmm, he must have kept it for himself!!

littledog - Nope..

Ozwald - I like running very light dampening. What shock positions are you running? Try stiffer springs (more like my carpet nats set-up)...

Chill Will - I did it to gain reaction and steering into the corner and through chicanes...

Ray - Everything that you have different from my set-up will make the car push more on-throttle and turn in harder off-throttle... droop, toe, spring, camber link....

vassago - Just because a car "feels" faster doesn't always mean that it is. This is one of the things I love about my Xray car right now - it's easier to put on a more aggressive set-up to get the corner speed like I want without it being impossible to drive. I don't think the TC3 is faster on a tighter track - I think that was proved at the Carpet Nats....

Ozwald - You did look at the colors wrong...lol.. I was one step softer in the rear...

PizzaDude - If Xray's are 30lbs and Asc's are 30lbs the Xrays are softer... Depends how you look at it - Xrays are 2-3lbs off to the soft side or Asc's are off 2-3lbs to the stiff side....

Josh you think upgrading from a Xray t1R to a Factory kit or Evo 2, is a good change? Or should i just stay with the T1R.

Also

Have you tried any other body top instead of the Alfa? And which do you prefere.

Thanks as always and great job at Warm-up. Looks like you and Burch and the rest of the Xray camp are getting the CS27's figured out. Glad to see you were running the Alfa outdoors too.
Ive made all the changes to the XRay for next practice day.

Josh,

I'm running the adjustable pistons per the instructions. Are you using the fixed pistons?

Default Two questions

Hi Josh,

Two questions:

First, can you give me some starting points on gearing for Xray T1FK with a 10x1, 19t, and a stock motor?

Second, how does droop affect the Xray? Does letting the front arms droop more decrease the amount of steering coming out of the corner?

Thanks,
Brad
