Default Short Arms...

Hey Josh,

Ok, I'm going to install the short arms on my EVO2. Do I need anything else to do this? Also, I'm running the blade type sway bar in the front. Can I still use this or do I have to switch to the wire type bar? Any help/instructions would be appreciated.

Thanx,

Hey Josh,

How do you break in your diff's on your 1/12?

When will the Forum on your site be back up?

I haven't seen the pics but i'm guessing he is using the 1/4AAA cells like the ones for $2.00 a pop that Hank sells on hobbytalk.

I think that he uses 6 cells so he can get 7.2v to his electronics. I recently stepped up to 6 cells and that little KO-947 really flies now.

They are 150Mah Nimh cells.

I had been using a 6.0v pack for over a year now and it really help out in keeping the voltage up for my servo so the car doesn't get sluggish.

Hope that helps.

Tim

What sort of problem are you having with the forum? If the site is different looking (has the huge C12 Ad at the top) than you are on my server and the forum is functional as far as I have tested. The forum is still functional as well on the older site but the posts just won't be carried over.

Basically the site is moving to a new server and new design, I was kept all the login information and posts, but DNS may take as much as 72 hours before users see the new site. If that is the case, all posts on the old site will no be on the new one once the shift is complete.

Neil - I used a dremal. I did cut the rear pulley too but when racing mod I was having trouble and actually broke 2 belts.... It just was too much for mod....

429racer - When I've tested I found it to make a big difference in corner speed in stock!! You will loose a little bit of low speed steering but I think the car set-up is easily adjusted to get it back.

SalvadoriRacing - I saw the e-mail, just haven't had time to reply!! Thank you though and I will be sending you questions soon!! With the ackerman I like running 2 degrees of toe-out (total - 1 degree per side). With the origional Xray steering when you ran this toe-out then you had tons of ackerman. With the extensions you have minimal ackerman but still with the toe out I like...

dontfeelcold - I think the belt cars have come a long way and I do think at the Snowbirds it will be a great race. My Xray car now is extremely good and we've been able to test a lot of motor stuff since the Novak race. Let's just say I'm anxious to get down there!!

JCB - You might have to dremal the front mount by the servo a little. I think it depends on the servo though!! As far as the sway bar - yes, you have to use the wire type - the blade doesn't fit...

miniRMAC - That's the reciever pack - it runs the servo and radio gear so all of your main battery power goes to the motor..

David Joor - The site rocks!! You da man!!

Josh-Are you coming down to the Gate pre-Snowbirds (ie this weekend or next)? Weve had a pretty good 19t foam class lately.

My big question is on Foam tires. Is there a point when the traction gets so highon carpet-that its advantageous to go to softer foams? LIke from plaid/purple to cyan/magenta (orange-dbl pink/dbl. pink)?

Hey Josh,

Thanks again for the info. FYI, I run the KO-2173 servo. So other than changing my front sway bar, is that all?

Also, I just bought you one your 1/12 bodies for my RC12L3 but had problems when mounting the body. It sits up way too high and there is no way of me lowering it. It starts to hit my ESC. I guess I will hold on to it when I purchase a new 1/12 car. Not sure what I'm getting yet. I did get a glimpse of your car at Cleveland, but not when it will be available. Thanks again and good luck at the Birds!!

hello josh......

The new CEFX website design is wonderful!!!

I'm planing to free up my transmission, but instead of cut the diff pulley tooth I'll try to run narrower belts.
The original belts are 4mm width and I'll try 2 and 3mm width, what do you think and recommend?????

thanxxx.....
