I know the short arms are available from Serpent, I just got 2 sets in.

So I assume the stores who had them on order will have received them as well.

literw2 - I am not sure about the arms - You'd have to contact Serpent USA or Horizon to see if they are in from Xray yet. All of my arms came in a bag without header card so I don't know the part #.... Sorry I can't help....

bainfowler - Cool!!!

Josh,

I have a question: What are the advantages/disadvantages of T-plate 12th scale cars (ex: CEFX, RC12L, Yoke YRX-12, etc..) vs. pivot rear end 12th scale cars (ex: CRC knife, Speedmerchant, etc..)? What's your opinion on the two design variations?

Josh - When you free up the drive train of your xray, do you cut every other tooth out on both front & rear pulley or just front? Also, do you cut the teeth out of belt too? I also saw that you extended the steering knuckles where steering linkage connects to, what does that do?

Hi Josh thanks for replying to earlier posts of mine.
I have my EVOLVA assembled and I think this is a really nice car alot better than the 950 I put together a couple of months ago.now I have a few questions for ya.
what body do you recomend, and where can I get it??
what size tires do you recomend me starting with F/R ?
how small will you run your tires before you toss them?
and with the droop will you change it or will you run the tires from new with the same droop settings. this is one area that I am most cofused>
and what battery do you use in yours and where can I get one from. I dont thik my LHS has those kind of batteries. but I did see in a pic of the car that they had a 5 cell inline pack installed like the older cars used. any recomendations with set up or anything will be greatly appreaciated. This is by far the best car I have ever put together. thank you in advance.
mike.

dderos2 - T-plate cars have aways been more consistant. I think they also generate more forward traction. I think this is why you see a lot of guys go fast in stock with pivot cars but most mod guys use t-bar cars... Stock doesn't need the forward bite, it just needs to be free and carry corner speed....

alien too - I just cut every other off of my front pulley. I DIDN"T CUT THE BELT!!! The extensions on my steering are actually pieces of the "foam tire" front shock tower cut off to fit. It gives the car less ackerman - more high speed steering....

Alex - [email protected]

Dave - No prob!!

whynot - I reccomend the Delta Lola - you have to get it from Delta Mfg. I have a link to their site on my www.cefx.net site. I would start with 35's on the front and rear. I'll run my tires down to 63mm in the front and 70mm in the rear. Once they are below that I don't run them anymore. You can adjust your droop according to your tire size (1mm droop = 2mm tire dia). I use a 5 cell AA pack - it's what Kyosho wanted us to use for the 1 hour main in Cinci... I'm glad you like the car!! Good Luck!!

429racer - Thanks for the info!!

Josh, if you just cut every other tooth off of the front, did you use a dremel? Why the front pulley and not the rear?

By less ackerman, you gain high speed steering, but what effect does it have on slower speeds? Is it a big change for people who run stock motors?

looks like i will be trying out the short arms asap.

hey Josh,
try and convince x-ray to stay with a belt drive car (there are always rumours of a shaft drive car) just to show that a belt drive car is just as quick as a shaft drive.
Sounds like you had some really bad luck going by your race report on the x-ray site.

?????
What are their part numbers. As far as I know these arms were given at the Euros and there's still no PN on the Xray site.

until now they were "team drivers" only items.

PN, PN, please, please....
