What if i want more on power steering?

highwayman: im not josh but i would try reducing anti squat (assuming you aren't running 0-degrees already) if you want more on power steering. of cors i could be wrong but thats how its seems to work for me. im sure josh will reply as well so we'll know soon enuff that i am wrong and that you shouldnt really listen to anything i say. well... i usually run my car (G+) flat right now, FBJ has been experimenting with ant-sqaut, anti-dive, etc, for some time now, would like to do so, but im trying to learn the dynamics first before i touch my car, since its still running ok so far.

Josh: we've got a new asphalt race facility opening soon here in our part of the world and the current home track i race in is also scheduled for resurfacing this coming january. anticipating that we will be having really smoothly laid out asphalt tracks, the local 12th scale racers are getting their rides ready. thing is, up til now, we have only run 12th scale on carpet, so needless to say, we are new to asphalt. being familiar with foam tires from both TRC and Jaco, what front-rear tire combos would you suggest as a good starting point? the local shops arent consistent when it comes to the brands they order - sometimes they bring in Jaco, somtimes TRC.

.... oh and how is the wear in asphalt racing when running 4-cell mod? i am assuming wear is significantly more than when running on carpet, but how much more? can you expect like only half the number of runs you typically get when running on carpet?

thanks

Adam - I think so but I have to check with the family if they have any plans for me!!

highwayman - Make the rear arms either flat or with pro-squat. You can also try front kick-up.

ROBORAT - Always Pink rears and either Purple or Double Pink fronts on asphalt. One carpet you usually tend to wear tires evenly or even a little bit more on the rear tires. On asphalt I tend to wear the fronts more than the rear. I can usually get 3 runs out of my fronts (if my car is pushing bad). If the car has a good balance I will get 5-10 runs on a set (again with the fronts wearing out first) but it just depends on how abrassive the track is.

xxxkat - Sorry, I didn't see the post...lol... We are using the 1.77 drive train in all classes. I really like my Xray car. In only a few weeks I've been able to learn a lot about the car and I am having fun getting it set-up now - it has serious corner speed!!!

Here's a general question that I'm not sure has a definitive answer. I'll fire it off anyways.

What sort of things help retain corner speed (setup speaking)?
What sort of things kill corner speed (setup speaking)?

Josh, are you still Trinity Driver for 12th scale...? If so, I would like to hear from you the comparison of the Trinity Switchblade 12 Spashette edition vs the new Reflex 12.......

I am currently running the Sb12 S.E. and planning to step up to the Reflex12.....but the whole super low-prof and low CG really scare me to try that....also, Reflex 12 seems like required very thin tires only.....so I have to true the tires to almost nothing to start the car..? Please enlighten me.........thanks.
