Hey Josh,

What diff oil, shock oil, and shock springs do you recommend for the G4 on a high traction track with foam tires?

KMac - Usually, 10,000wt rear oil, 60wt front, 70wt rear, Silver rear springs, reflex blue front springs....

Mike - I didn't say slow you down (thinking things subconsiously Mr. Blackstock...lmao...getting old? denial already?). I said a more patient man... There is a difference... See ya soon!!

Josh,

So are you bringing a Cyrul creation for a 12th scale to the Classic this week???? I'm assuming your touring car will still be the TC3 at least for the time being!

Take care and see you at the Classic in a couple of days.

RBLove - I am going to run my same car from the past few years. I am working on a few other things though so we will see what I can come up with for the Champs...

Mike: You don't need a "babysitter", just hand him a transmitter and a Buds car.

Josh - got a 1/12th question for you. I plan on running mod 1/12th on a RC12L3. I am running a 100 pinion and have all the spurs to play around for gear ratios. My question is what tire combo is really good for carpet for a 9-10 turn P94 double and what size should I true them down to?

Thanks and good luck in Cleveland...wish I could attend to drive with my teammate Rob.

Josh - Do you run an aluminum driveshaft in your TC3? If so, have you found the stock driveshaft to twist under load while racing carpet? Also, what about the plastic dog bones v. aluminum and plastic diff halves v. aluminum? In your opinion what are the advantages running the aluminum parts, I have heard an all aluminum drive-train gives more grip?

Thanks!

John - I would run a 22-25/100 (with 9-10 turn motors) with 1.90-1.85 rear tire diameter. It depends on the track layout exactly what pinion I will use....

Doug D - I run an aluminum drive shaft - mainly because I would break the stock ones if I was racing with a one-way or front spool. I won't run the plastic dog bones, I have noticed a speed difference in my car when I use those and it's not for the better! The plastic diff pieces I think are ok for stock racing but for modified we have trouble with the differentials becomming really tight by the end of the race. So, most of us use either al. or steel....
