hooked_on - Running the G4 in the future? I'm not really sure but hopefully I'll know in the comming weeks. I didn't design the car but I just wrote race and test reports after each time I raced the Reflex. Team Magic did the rest from there. I'll check out my car and post a set-up once I have time to write it all down. [/B][/QUOTE]

Thank Josh... I look forward to it!

Hi Josh Cyrul,

Would you mind to tell us your idea on rubber tires and inserts combo for electric touring car? Like when should we use thinner or thicker insert? when should we use Firm or soft insert? I am pretty beginner on these so would love many advices..

On the Electric TC3, are you always using front batteries placement? If so, how much lead weight you put it on the car and where about it? On the servo or beside the motor? Just want some refrences.

Cheers
Dan

DanDan,

You should also post this question to Barry Baker. Nothing against either driver, but Josh is a foam expert and Barry is a rubber tire expert... Either one can help though. Doesn't get any better than these two.....

Ron!! Hey, I won't be able to make it out to Vegas this year. It was the origional plan but as you know everything has changed...lol... Good luck!! Have fun and hopefully I'll see you in Ft. Myers this year!!!

racerdx6 - Changing tire compound won't change the chunking problem. I would suggest to maybe flare your front fenders on your body a bit more. This way when you hit a wall the body doesn't push back into the tires but actually will cover and protect them....

Darryl - Ok...?

BrianJ - LOL....

Taz_S - I haven't seen the new Kyosho car. Does it look good??

DanDan - I always run my batteries forward and usually if the car needs weight it has to go on the right side - I usually will put it in the middle or up by the servo. Inserts - Ug...lol.... Usually, I just run what Barry does...lol... I don't have rubber tires down like he does. If you still want my input just let me know - I would ask him first....

Thanks Josh. I didn't know that flaring the front of your body can help. Mine gets kinda flared out anyway from hitting things and I usually just bend it back. But I guess I wont do that anymore, sounds good.
But wouldn't having a harder compound on the outer edge help the tire from chunking? I'm just kinda confused here cuz I thought that was one of the reasons a lot of people ran Plaid front tires on their sedans (I do and have no trouble with chunking the outer edge). Thanks.

We ran the Plaids to help settle the car down and keep it from tractionrolling. For chunking, you can trim the front wheel opening so that it is slightly behind the front tire. If the fender is behind the tire, it won't get pushed into it when you crash. It's the body that normally cuts the tire and makes it chunk.
