Default Camber settings

Josh, I have been looking at some of your set ups for the XRay and noticed that you run a lot of camber. As much as 3deg in the rear and 2-2.5 in the front. Can you give an explanation why you run that much camber and what are it's advantages?

Thanks,

Ron

Toxic Racing - I'm 99% sure we are going to do the CRS program on Saturdays. I'm still working on how things will work and be run as well as the schedule and classes that will be taught on certain dates.

Matteucci - I believe you posted on the CEFX site - I posted a reply to you there.

Josh,

Hope all is well with you and the family. I too have lots of girl stuff from my little one. She's trying to walk now, soon I'll have to get her a transmitter!

Shoot me Angel's email and I'll let her know what baby stuff we have. Just use my work email.

Ray,

What's up?

Take care,
Rick

Hi Josh,

you've got mail at cefx.net from New Zealand. Look for the .nz suffix lol.

Just a few questions with regards the C12 to help me make up my mind which 1/12th to get.

Thanks

Mabuchi540, with everything going on in Josh's life right now it may take him a little time to reply. With the new car, new babby, lawyer stiff, getting ready for the next Reedy race, changing diapers, etc. What were your questions about the C12? Maybe I can help. If I don't know the answers I can ask Josh when I see him.

as a lot of the ones I had have been answered from another company with regards the "generic" questions but here are a few specific ones to the C12.

Does the motor pod on this car allow for enough movement if using a 540 stock motor to gear appropriately to get enough speed out of it to be at least faster than my Yokomo CGM TC with a 540 in it, as this is fast enough for me at the moment?

What tires are included in the kit?

I will only be racing on high grip asphalt so I'm wondering how the kit tires go on that type of surface given that most people I've seen race on asphalt here in NZ don't bother with tire additives?

Or would purple in the front and pink in the rear be a better combo (and longer lasting) as I have had suggested to me from others?

What size are the diff balls? (I have 100s of 3/32 from my Yokomo that I hope I could use).

I have read that this kit needed some upgrade parts (call them version 2 bits if you like) due to problems with the first batch, are all these issues taken care of in the newer kits (so nothing extra is needed) that I might order from speedtechrc?

Thanks in advance.

Default AAC vs ABC

Josh or Mcsquish ('cause Josh is Dad dutying),
Is Josh's breakin proceedure the same for both types of engines?

(smiles courtesy of my 4 year old...I do Dad duty too!!! lol)

Sorry guys, I haven't been around much as I was out at the Reedy Race and then came home where my wife became ill and we spent nearly a week in the hospital with her so it's been a bit busy to say the least....

jjmudd - Yep, exactly the same for any engine....

Mabuchi 540 - Gearing wise, the C12's rear pod is longer than most all the other 1/12's out there right now. This allows us to gear the car much higher without having to run a tiney spur gear to do so. We still keep the suspension geometry close by moving the t-bar pivot farther back. The back of the chassis has 2 holes, one for a CEFX t-bar and one for an Asc t-bar. The kit includes Jaco Purple fronts and Jaco Pink rears. The diff balls are standard 1/8 (this is the standard size used in all Kimbrough, PRS, RW, Robinson and any other gear for a 1/12 car). As far as upgrade parts - the kits now are including all the new batches of parts (motor plates, king pins, dampner tubes) as well as all the new Evo2 parts as we have now completely switched over to the new inventory. Hop-up parts you can get are the upright servo mounts and of course any of the green stuff if you prefer green over the standard silver look.
