Josh-thanks-this helps more than you know!!! Then I will keep dialing in a car with more and more steering-driveable and balanced of course!! And yes-full Paragon front and rear. NO CA on fronts, 4.5 deg caster, no sway bar-even!! Still pushes mid-off in very fast 180's. BUt-Not the Split chassis this time. I am slowly building up enugh parts to build another split chassis car to go with my 350!! Chicky says his Split car has mad steering. OK-I am babbling!!

Ray, I'm not Josh, but I have a suggestion. Why don't you try going to the outer hole on the steering knuckle without the ackerman extensions. That was better at my track for the real tight stuff.

Apex - I wanted the car to react faster and change directions faster for Cleveland's technical track this year. I tried it in the med position and it was easier to drive but it just wasn't as aggresive as I needed....

Corey - Try running 60wt in the front.... That might slow the front end down a bit keeping that rear tire on the ground....

Ray - 4.5 castor?? You guys and your 6 blocks with anti-dive...lol... I run no anti-dive and 3 degree blocks.... More steering The split chassis is much better with foam tires!!!

Brian - The only problem with that is you make the car more twitchy so it is better through the tight stuff but you usually loose a lot of steering high speed (sweepers) and the car becomes hard to drive once you hit high traction....

Yea, Josh is right again. Everytime I think I find something better two weeks later I am back to his setup. I went back and forth at the champs with the anti dive and flat pins and was always faster with flat and 3 degrees. I will have to say that the split chassis for me in stock when trying to run Josh's setup made the front end dig but never lift. I had to go to stiffer springs in the front. For mod and 19t the split chassis with Josh's setup is by far better than the standard or XRC chassis. Basically you can drive the 19t and mod like a stock.

See ya Saturday Josh.

Default FK SHOCK QUESTION

does anyone know how much shock oil weight is added by closing one hole? ex. if i have a 30wt with all holes open and i close one (1) hole on the shock piston what oil weight would it be equivalent to? 35? 40? 45?

thanks

Thanks for the info, Josh. Actually, Ray, I would do what Josh said, 3 degrees and pins flat. Car steers a lot more!

Striker - I want to say that each click adds about 5wt each, but I can't be sure. For some reason, I think I remember someone telling me that.

JOsh-just got done putting my SPlit chasis together again. Should I show up Saturday with the Nats set-up on the car or the Champs set-up for MOdified?

Thanks,
Ray

chicky -

striker - Remember, when you change hole you are changing dampening feel but you are also changing the "pack" of the shock which dramatically effects performance... As far as what equals what... I have no clue.... Another thing, 4 holes open on the adjustable pistons is not the same as a 4 holes open on the standard pistons as the holes in the adjustables are bigger I believe....

Rob - 5wt Xray oil which equals about 10-15wt Asc....

Ray - Both set-ups are quite close actually... Start with the Nats one.....

Nope, I change the oil - not the pack...

Na i didnt mean it like that... Was just curious if you run the adj. pistons. I be changing the shock oil too, but seem to usually keep 4holes open

Josh, so what your saying is 3* c-hubs and flat ,has more steering than 6* or 3*with 3*kick. I am running stock and seem to have a little tight condition mid corner out. I have ran 3* w/3* kick and 6* flat so far,
