I believe that the body on the F6 (in the AE pics) is a Protoform thirteen.
And I have that mounted on my TRF102.
[sorry, still not painted - too busy at work (I hate paying bills)]

Something a little different. Tyrrell 019 on a CRC WTF1 FC-16.

It is a Fifteen in the AE pics. The cutout stencil on the sticker sheet is labeled and set up just for that body. The Thirteen is a high nose and the Fourteen is a wide nose with optional nose cones.

Well, to answer your ? nubs - that pic of mine is a TRF102 with a PF-13 mounted.
And I believe I used the F60 Tamiya wings - but would have to double check.

I ran the lrp 2600(139grams)super shorty lipo in my fgx vs the protek 6100(222grams) hv shorty pack, and I liked the super shorty pack better for the first four minutes(same if not better punch/top speed) of the race due to lighter weight, better handling/ no traction roll, etc.... The protek shorty pack only took about 5200mah at 8.4v , but did end the six minute runs with higher voltages and more punch, although my fgx ended up being about 100grams over the weight limit with a tendency to traction roll. I have since found ways to reduce my fgx's weight down to 1058grams with the super shorty, but I would recommend that you build your car light enough to be under 1050g with a 230gram shorty pack: the end of the race fade with the super shorty might be the difference between winning and losing... Lrp has a new 2900 hv super shorty that might perform better than the 2600 at the end of the race, but I hope they plan to bump the capacity a bit more(4000mah+) in the near future, even if they have to increase weight by 15grams or so.....
I don't see the fgx weighing 1050g with a 220g shorty lipo anytime soon...

I'll be testing a 2600mah nosram. I still find my F104W is a hit and miss on our sweeper, low bumpy ashphalt. Granted our air temp is quite low in winter being about 10degrees towards the end of the night.
The lrp 2600 super shorty did perform in my fgx with a very taxing drivetrain: the gear modulus was too big, the gear mesh was not optimal, and the gear diff was on the heavy side... I've since reduced the modulus to 48p with a better gear mesh, and switched to a lighter ball diff/aluminum dogbones combo that might reduce enough load to ensure a six minute run with some punch still left behind. I will test in September when the carpet season starts over, but I believe the super shorty pack will fair better in the F104W.... Cheers...

The new montech wing looks interesting. They include multiple fins for all types of track condition.

Personally I think they look terrible (I'm quickly coming to the same conclusion with many montech F1 stuff)! I wish that the rules would require period correct bodies and wings (or as close to as possible). These just look like some random person decided to put a Chinese fold out fan on the front of an "F1" car.

I think the Montech wings do a reasonable job of looking like modern F1 wings given the limitations of strength etc

I know I'm being critical, but I got into the F1 RC world because the cars look very similar to the full size looking cars. I'm also not a fan of the flat side F1 shells either for the same reasons.
Anyway, if you like them that's ok too. I'm just giving my opinion.
Yes they 'kinda' look like F1 wings, but at least the likes of Serpent, AE etc try to make them look like they resemble the F1 (1:1) regulations. Like the mandated flat Y250 section where no winglets and flaps etc are allowed within. Yet the montech wing has decided that they won't bother with that, and for fun they'll add a spoon style section where the Y250 section is mandated. As well as extending the flaps all the way up to the nose cone.

I am stuck and hopefully you guys can help me out. I am trying to decide if I want to buy the Tamiya TRF102 or get the RC10F6. I can get the 102 at a steep discount but I keep wondering if I will regret buying that and will be wanting the F6. Is there a significant difference between the two?
