I would give some credit to the SP1... I managed to pick mine up here in Oz for $140, and then throwing in some options parts (carbon reinforced links, carbon battery plate, etc) and for less than $200 I have a car that is in just a good spec as my outgoing 104WGP, and IMO lightyears ahead of the FGX.
However, I will add a couple of caveats though... the SP1 manual in not great, and some sections should probably be assembled differently (the front end for example), and the 8mm piviot balls are not fully tapped... which means either shorter screws, or replacement balls. I'm not too fussed on that, as I knew about that issue prior to building the car... but for a newbie, I can see how that could lead to a fair bit of frustration, as the very first step in the manual is to mount the piviot balls to the chassis that
Overall though, I am impressed with the quality of the kit... first run out tomorrow

I have an SP-1 with Pit tires that I run on a CRC carpet track. I'm having some issues with front/overall traction that I'm hoping you all can help me figure out.
So, the front Pit tire is a bit tapered/coned on the outside half, which seems like a bit of built in camber. What I'm trying to figure out is the tire sauce strategy vs. camber settings vs. caster settings.
I was running a 10 degree caster plate, 1 degree camber, and then saucing the front tires 1/2 - 3/4, depending on the track grip. I was still understeering so I flipped the caster plate to the 5 degree size, keeping camber at 1 degree and saucing similar. I suddenly had a on more steer.
It seems to me that, with the outside coning/taper, saucing the front Pit tires is tricky. The window of proper grip is very narrow. I wanted to ask how you guys handle this? What's the typical camber settings for these guys, and how do you sauce throughout the night?
And should I stick with the 5 degree caster plate, or go back to 10 degrees?
Any help/explanation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

What center shock spring and do you have any preload on it?
Are you running any droop/ toe in or out?
Which Pit tires do you have?
Also how do you have your battery and speedo arranged?

I recently bought some F1 decals on ebay from 0.01shop . While the decals look nice, they have really mediocre stickiness to them. Some that I applied just yesterday are already starting to peel back when going over even minor curves. So, I'm wondering if there is any type of glue you all would recommend to stick those down? What works best in this case?

I cant believe that no one has mentioned the TRG 112 and 112n or the new TRG 114... by far the best chassis i have driven...

We don't have a lot of retailers for them here in the states. They are very solid cars though. Right now the popular chassis are the F1R2 by Exotek because it is the evolution of a winning chassis, the SP-1 by SpeedPassion due to its low cost and the F104 V2 because of solid quality and general availability globally. There are so many more kits out there that its hard to take them all in. Also keep in mind in the States we are running max 190mm width and rubber tires.
