Default BLAST F1 Round one

on sunday july 23 BLASTF1 held its first round of the season. It was a good turn out, 11 drivers in the wide cars, and 5 cars ran the UF1 race. Brad Palmer from f1 paintlab happened to be passing through town that evening and raced with us. Brad won the uf1 round and took third in the BLASTF1 race. Here are some shots of the track as well as some cars. The Lucky Strike Honda (kyosho sr-5)took first place in the BF1 race followed by the Mild Seven Renault (Tamiya 103rx) third place went to palmer by just a couple seconds over myself in the second Mild Seven Renault! On a side note, palmer drove his 103 with the standard brushless 21.5 while the rest of us ran Brushed 24 turn stock motors. Also to you marty Peterson, look carefully at the Renault body...MLP baby!!

If you plan on racing them you should check on what the rules are at your local track. The F104 V2 is 180mm wide which is pretty much legal anywhere. The F113 is 200mm wide which is not legal at most US based races. If your local club runs 200mm go with the F113...if the club runs 190mm or 180mm go with the F104 V2.

Default Racing near Pendleton

Hi everyone question for all of you out in cali.

My son is stationed at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton and he is looking to check out some RC Racing near him, and would like to hook up with some racers to explain and help him get back into R/C racing again.

Thanks

Marty

The Tamiya USA track in Aliso Viejo is open on Saturdays and always full of every level of racer.
It's free, the track is beautiful, people are the best and you will find any type of onroad car you like being run from F1 to Minis and everything in between.
It's open only to Tamiya cars and nothing wrong with that since they are top of the line cars from pro to entry level kits.
You don't have to have a Tamiya car to check it out but if you do have or get one it's hard to beat the facility.
That's just one place to check out and it's only about 30 minutes north of Camp Pendelton.

If he's even thinking about an F1, well, a Tamiya on a Tamiya track with Tamiya drivers in So Cal? Nothing further Your Honor.
