I respect your opinion, however I don't agree with you. I and others feel that the HPI wheels and tires look much better than the "modern" slick Tamiya F104 wheels and tires on the VF1 cars. As to how the HPI tires work; I know someone who personally has used them on a pan car, and he said they worked better than the Tamiya tires! I do however agree that the F104 width of 180mm does make the cars look more like a Formula 2/Jr car; that is why we are working on making them 190mm; they will look more like a proper late 60's F1 car, plus the extra width will aid the handling!

Also, those who are making the effort to make these VF1 cars look more realistic, and are "sweating the details", and making it work better than the original stock concept, are not "wasting their time"; all this effort will ultimately make the VF1 cars even more popular!

Suggestions on the pan car adapter for my CRC car? I wanna run VTA-type tires on it for playing in the street!
I was looking at an HPI F10 rear axle/hubs/etc since they use 1/4" stuff, but the width is only 180mm.

Yeah I had all of the HPI stuff even the hopups and ball diff front axles, I found the stock gear diff with the 12mm hubs on them. (still looking for ball diff) The ball diff setup has 14mm hubs on them looks much like the Tamiya F103 parts.

They are hard to come by now, I think anyway. I also have that setup on my F103 I posted at the start (page508) of me coming back here and posting.

What I am doing is looking for a way for the pan cars to run Vintage wheels and tires as well with my aluminum hubs. I am sending you. they will be at 200mm if I remember right.

Hey Nut Driver do you still want the Aluminum Hubs for the front and the prototype rears in the pics posted? they will go out Monday.

Here we go again, Not you NUTD ok but it is starting to look like this is spinning out of control.

First this is no way an attack on Manny or anyone, were not looking to change any series rules this is just to give us what we have wanted, in a F1 Car for years.......

I am not asking for one penny from any of this and it is not why most of us are doing this.

Hubs Parts going to NutDriver are free. looking to get pan car hub adapters done as again I have the fronts

Not all of us even have a series or a place to run or race these.

I do know for a fact! I have run this setup on my pan cars on the street. all of you with pan cars know what I am talking about, and all of you with F1 Tamiya cars all have the same problem. try to lunch from a dead stop or a rolling start and that car will spin out. This setup under testing with a brushless 17.5 and a 4000mah pack work great, yes jump on it in the corner and it will spin out but stopping and starting it worked Great!

Now if the new cars have changed that's great I have one coming.

I am just looking for a way to give every one what they want and have some fun doing it.

Marty, The cars haven't really changed...and what little change there is doesn't even come close to making up for the inadequacies of the tire.

Marty, check out the SP1 thread. There are a few of us putting some build tips in there that might help along the way. I'm painting today and I will have a W03 Schumi scheme on an F60 body. It should look pretty good even though I skipped the teal mist on the side pods. I don't have an air brush and not even interested in trying that one with a rattle can. I still need to pull the front wing and do the self etching auto primer trick before painting it silver to match. rear wing is just going to have silver vinyl on the outside of the fins.

Wow ok I was wrong big time. Just got the SP-1 in I put tighter the diff and axle assembly it is short As for the design well I don't have the Tamiya parts but I bet there the same (PRO & Ver 2.0) in length, Here are the New Pictures.

Now the HPI F10 setup with Vintage wheels and tires is 200mm = face to face is 7.8125" or 173.037mm then with the 6mm offset vintage wheels & tires it comes to 200mm with wheel and tire mounted.



The SP-1 is 5.4375" or 138.1125mm with Tamiya old school wide rears 200mm.



Vintage wheels w/6mm offset is 6.750" or 177.45mm short 12.55mm to get to 190mm or 6.25mm each side.




With the Aluminum adapters I did for the pan cars to get them to 190 - 200mm are the same adapters that are going to work for us running 190mm on our F1 cars W/Vintage wheels on the rear with there 6mm offset.
The Shoulder of the adapter .335" or 8.5mm the head of the adapter or hex is .170" or 4.3mm and a 2mm inside face.

If you want to use HPI wheels,just use F103GT parts. Wow problem solved,took two minutes.
