I have been looking for a F1 kit and love the fact that this one is a nitro one so you get the engine noise as well!

Just do like myself and a few others did; buy one and bring it to the track, run it in practice and before the races. Next thing you know more start showing up. BAM new class!

As far as 21.5 motors go are they all pretty much the same? I'm looking at orion, reedy and a d3.5. Opinions?

The kit is made by Kyosho so it is high quality. If you get the SP version of the kit it contains all of the hop-ups you may need such as the ball diff, carbonfiber chassis, and the two speed trans.
The only other options that you may want to get is the ride height adjustment shim set and the optional front and rear spring sets. There are also foam tire sets available for it as well.

The base setup seems to have a little to much steering and so most people recommend using a soft rear tire and a medium to hard front tire on asphalt.
The kit comes with soft rear and hard front rubber tires.

They actually have a champship race series for these F1's in Japan. I just finished the engine breakin and the car is a rocket!

There is a thread in the nitro on-road forum for the kf01 setups.

$340 for the conversion kit seems stiff to me. Of course, if I'd limited myself to only two F1 cars, I'd have the $ to buy this conversion kit! :-)

That's exactly what I'm currently doing. We'll see if it works.

I have heard a lot of good things about the Turnigy Trackstar. I am just waiting for my order to get here to try mine out. Hard to go wrong with only $35 for a motor.

Me too. I just didn't want to show up to a race and be told I couldn't run it because they're not "ROAR" or "TCS" legal.

Is that carpet you're running on? If so, what tires do you run on it?

CRC Fasttrack carpet, as for tires, Ron'll have to answer that. His car does look great on-track.

reedy then the Orion would be my choice.

Tried a few in 21.5 blinky in TC and Orion was good then the reedy became the motor of choice
