Came across this a while back, no personal experience with it.

Trying to get an F104W acclimated to black carpet and there are two issues I've seen in my first few packs:

1) It seems to lift the inside rear just enough to diff out on tight corners. I'm actually not losing rear traction, just acceleration, which makes it quite driveable but frustrating since I can't accelerate hard off a turn. Next time I will try heavier side damper, lowering ride height, or reducing front grip. Any better ideas?

2) After about 8 minutes of laps I had a front tire come off. On closer inspection I saw that the bearings pulled through the wheel, seemingly without breaking anything. I could reinstall the wheel as-is and drive it again. Is this common to the flexible F1 wheels or do I just have a broken one and don't know it?

From what I understand the XRay wings are exactly the same as the montech ones. So is the yokomo one. They are all made by montech

By super shorty no you mean a 2 cell shorty pack the size of the 1 cell shorty pack? If so I'm running it on my exotek F1. Gotta add a lot of weights to bring it back to spec. I can still run 15mins plus without feeling I'm draining the pack too much

Do you mean to legal weight or just driveability?

I will test a super shorty in low bumpy asphalt...

Around our sweeper I find I'm quite inconsistent.
F104w
V2 Turnigy, FDR 2.25
Soft front springs
Soft pit all around
30k roll damper
3mm rear droop
6mm height all around. Can't get lower

I would guess the broken one. Never happened to anyone I know and we used to race 15 minutes heats.

I would do a lighter dampening fluid, shim the width as close to 190 as you can and use a small spur to get the weight of the motor as far to the rear as possible.
If i go thicker on fluid when this happens, I just flip the car.

Super shorties are the same height as a a shorty, as wide as a shorty, but are much shorter. They almost are square from the top down. I've not seen anyone run them in anything, much less an F1 car.

I ran the lrp 2600(139grams)super shorty lipo in my fgx vs the protek 6100(222grams) hv shorty pack, and I liked the super shorty pack better for the first four minutes(same if not better punch/top speed) of the race due to lighter weight, better handling/ no traction roll, etc.... The protek shorty pack only took about 5200mah at 8.4v , but did end the six minute runs with higher voltages and more punch, although my fgx ended up being about 100grams over the weight limit with a tendency to traction roll. I have since found ways to reduce my fgx's weight down to 1058grams with the super shorty, but I would recommend that you build your car light enough to be under 1050g with a 230gram shorty pack: the end of the race fade with the super shorty might be the difference between winning and losing... Lrp has a new 2900 hv super shorty that might perform better than the 2600 at the end of the race, but I hope they plan to bump the capacity a bit more(4000mah+) in the near future, even if they have to increase weight by 15grams or so.....
I don't see the fgx weighing 1050g with a 220g shorty lipo anytime soon...

There is no associated F1 body.
